You only get prosecuted for a warcrime if you lose the war. Every country commits them.

That's not completely true. During the Nuremberg trials some nazis got away with war crimes only because the allies were doing the exact same crimes. (Mostly letting enemy submarine or ship crews drown because of fear of being sunk)

Well they can’t go around prosecuting all nazis when they want to employ some of them 🤣

        How many allies were prosecuted?

Depends on what you mean prosecuted. For the Biscari massacre the US officer was court marshalled, stripped of rank and put into prison for homicide.

It was instance by instance and not by the nuremburg trials which were solely focused on the nazis.

If Russia wins Ukrainians will be the ones who die for their warcrimes. Russia will not prosecute themselves. This is how warfare works now.

If is the big question. As far as russias blitzkrieg went they cant do shit. They vacated from eastern ukraine making weapon supplies easier.

Torture, rape, and execution of civilians are my understanding of the war crimes that have been committed so far. From what I've read, if the leader gets charged with war crimes, a countries sanctions can not be lifted until that person is turned over to the International Criminal Court. That's just what I have read but don't know the accuracy of that. I highly doubt that would ever happen in Putin's case but he deserves the Vlad the Impaler treatment for what his army did to those people in Bucha. Disgusting human beings.

I have a feeling if Putin wins this war you're gonna see alot of Azovs hung for warcrimes. Maybe thats why the Azovs are fighting so fiercely. They know if they lose they're dead anyway.

Good enough reason for me to fight.

I suggest that you start by reading the current version of the Geneva Convention.

There are various weapons banned from use, or banned from use against civilian targets, and targeting of Civilians itself is a war crime.

Russia has been doing many of the banned activities in their invasion of Ukraine.

The grunt level solders did not make those decisions. Those decision were made at the top for their to be such widespread use of such weapons and tactics. - Especially in a Military structured like the Russian Military where virtually all decisions are made at the next level up.

Blowing up one apartment building might be due to a targeting error or equipment malfunction.

Blowing up two apartment buildings suggests incompetence.

Levelling whole cities indicates the existence of a policy.

That policy is more of an attmitence of them not knowing a god damn thing about urban combat and performing terribly.

If you want to "capture" a city best you dont level said city. This is having the unwanted effect of making the peacekeeping operation looking more like a genocide. Doesnt help when you have a pit full of people who's hands are tied and a single bullet hole in the head.

Putin cant lie his way out of this. His propaganda has been losing from the start.

Or to put it another way:

1st time might be an accident or coincidence.

2nd time it's now highly suspicious.

        3rd time its enemy actions.

It's incredibly rare that by the 3rd time something happening in a short period of time (relatively) that it was not intentional.

Intentionally murdering civilians. Probably no repercushions, he is a nuclear armed maniac living in a world where other powers have morals.

This is offensive to people who have been affected by Putin's actions.

This post clearly shows you have a lack of empathy.

He stated that he's only bombing military things in Ukraine but he's bombing hospitals, schools, houses, etc. Killing civilians and kids.
    He should be hunged

I'd like to see him dragged out in chains and hung upside down and slit his throat so he can bleed dry like the animal he is.

He should be hung by the short hairs until dead.

If convicted? Will the trial take place in a county or district court?

      International Court.

    • LloydAsher

It will take place in no court but the accusations will definitely cause sanctions to stay in place. Until putin is outed the sanctions stay in place. That makes putin a tasty target for an oligarch to oust and claim glory.
