Sadly I was a teenager in this decade which is pretty anoing since all it was is a bunch of skin heads drinking thinking they are tough.
Ideally, I think the 80's was the year to be a teenager; the big hairdo's, the music,Oh and the FASHION!
I however am a 90's kid (born 1994). Not saying the 90's is a bad year to be a teen but I was just a kid in the 90's (I'm 17 now) and I have a lot of great memories from the 90's.
ANYWAYS, being a teenager in this type of year, it's not as great as I thought it would be when I was younger. I was expecting my teen years to be this big ball of adventures, friendships, and romance. Hah, I blame John Hughes for my high expectations for my teen self. ;)
I'm twenty, and I would say that living in Canada going into the 21st century is exciting! Here are the reasons why:
1. Population increase will force the Canadian government into mass public transit, something that hasn't really happened since the creation of the subway lines in Toronto since the 50's
2.Education will have to adjust to people's needs rather than it's usual "one size fits all" model.
3. Society as a whole will change because the global downturn will dictate so. People will be forced to interact with each other more, and help each other out more if they want to enjoy life.
This generation I think. They can screw, stay out late and do basically anything they want, the new toys and systems coming out for kids are revolved around touchpads. Some of these toys pushed to children as young as seven. Not to mention the walstreet children thinking they are entitled to free tvs. So yeah kids have it made now a days. After the 2000s.
I can't imagine what it would be like to be a teenager with internet access... the idea of all of your youtube videos and all of your facebook retardedness, wandering around the internet forever... thank god I was a teenager before all that, I don't know how I could possibly live knowing that all of my teenage stupidity had been recorded forever...
Sadly i was borin in the Century, however i think being a teenager in the 80's or 90's would have been the best, the music, the clubbing, the cars....
1970s! AIDS didn't exsist, the Vietnam War had ended, so no fear of being drafted, disco and everyone - all ages and races out dancing the night away, Carter was president and smoked weed with Willie Nelson on the White House roof!
90's
because your parents are probably teens in 70's and would have raised you in 70's culture.
However your childhood would be spend in 80's which is a glorious decade for kids in terms of movies, cartoons, music.
Then your hormone and angst would peak in the 90's a great scene of punk, grunge, and alternative music where even the nerds and the geeks could look cool if they could play instruments.
70's and 80's are cool but their teens would probably failed to appreciate the 90's scene. anyone later than the 90's are just sniffing the residue of the triple decade of youthful awesomeness.
1990s ecstasy was getting cheap and decent lsd was still available. I also saw some decent titties on msn even though the video quality was poor.
Why is there a "before the 21st century" option?
All the options other than 2000s were before the 21st century. In fact, what is the point in any of the options before the 70s? Nobody using this site will have experienced growing up as a teenager in the 60s so wouldn't be able to judge.
Wish I had a fuckin time machine so I could get my ass back to the 1970's
Don't you mean "before the 20'th century" since all the other options, except for 2000, are before the 21'st century?
If that's the meaning it would definitely be "before" for me.
Most people said the 2000's. Why? Because they can sit on the internet and get fat all day?
I swear I got born in the wrong era. I know I belong in the 60s/70s. One thing I'll sadly never get to experience. Owell cant dwell on teh past that never happened, to the present, future and beyond...
I was a teen through the 90's. It was pretty cool. I just wish I wasn't so introverted at the time, would have been way more fun
the 70' were great because weed was awesome and cheap and most parents were clueless about a lot of stuff. the 60's were still strict
they grew up in a different time and the world changed radically with all kinds of scientific progress. life was getting easier for everyone.
it didnt last and the eighties turned sour pretty fast. the sixties kids were parents now and they knew what the kids were up to so it got more difficult to fool them.
also they tried to be friends with their kids and thats just embarassing for everyone
I would like that I would be born in 70's...and live maybe to 99s cuz later 2000s sucks.
