Not sure the year but middle school, 8th grade year. I think that was 2008ish. I remember just hanging out after school with my then good friends. We would just be chillaxing and playing games. It was fun, school wasn't so bad, and overall life was pretty good then.
I often wish I could go back to my high school years. That was in the '80s, but yeah.
The 80s sound like such an interesting time to be alive. I mean don't get me wrong life's not bad now, but things were probably way different back in those days then now. Not that I would know. How was the 80s for you?
A lot of things were pretty cheesy, like any generation I guess. Break Dancing, Glam Rock, the birth of Techno Music.
There were other things, like a heightened state of alert during the final decade of the Cold War.
More than anything, just being my high school years, it holds a lot of fond memories. Fishing, hunting, camping with friends...friends like I haven't had since.
On the first part I agree that each generation holds something different.
That Cold War part sounds like everyone was paranoid.
On that last part, it sounds like you had some nice times at high school. I mean really, that sounds like a blast. Just hanging with your friends is always fun. But it sort of sucks that you grow apart of from these people, at least that's what I'm assuming happened. What did happen? And again that sounds pretty awesome, your high school years I mean.
Yeah...we just grew apart. Nothing really happened except life.
Some people do stay close to their high school friends...it just didn't work that way for us. The past 28 years since then have been a great experience in their own way too though.
No regrets...just good memories.
2001 and 2008 were very painful yet memorable years for me. I try to see that sort of stuff as a learning experience. I went through that stuff five and thirteen years ago and I'm still learning from it all.
2004, worst year of my life, because I learned how mean people can be and lost my faith in humanity.
2009, best year in my life. I learned what it is to truly love someone. I recovered part of my faith.
So, for me the 2000s were a decade full of contrasts.
Probably around 2004 and 2005. I was 9 or 10 years old. One of the oldest in primary school, I had friendships that worked for me at the time, school was a doss and we could go out playing football all day listening to Sum 41 and Blink 182. No responsibility, just fun.
As great as that sounds, every year since 2010 has been better than that. My life is on a roll at the moment :)
2001 when I was 8. When I die, if there is a Heaven, let it be a place where I can be 8 years old forever. Being an adult sucks!
2002 I was in an arts course with like minded people, I was young and I had so much fun.
I have a horrible memory and can't remember things that far back :/ I've had a lot of concussions so that might be why. Probably doesn't count since its just now 2014 but id say this year cause I got meet and get autographs from my favorite royals players.
Probably 04, because I graduated that year, or 2001 because of 9/11 (I'm from NY). That's something you will never forget, and not because of those stupid signs those scum bags make to cash in on a tragedy.
inb4 "it goes to charity", maybe the official ones do, but there are thousands of 'companies' making those stickers/signs and they don't all go to charity.
2001 just a year before finishing high school. As someone studying at school I had very few responsibilities.
