Im not going to pretend I know what it is, would you be able to explain it to me?
I work in education and the impression is that they'll become more widespread internationally. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. The education system here allows you to cut out what you're bad at, at a much younger age. Sounds like a good deal, often isn't.
At 14, I chose five subjects and had four imposed on me (maths, english, physical aducation, and religion). At 16, I chose three and had none imposed on me. At 18, I chose one (no minors here). What this actually means is that out of the four things that were imposed on me at 14, I was able to drop all of them at 16 (and did drop three out of four).
For SATs to be relevant, our educational system would also have to move into line with the American model. I am completely undecided on that, having equal arguments for and against.
What I do know, though, is that I'd love to know what my SAT score would have been. If there's a way of me sitting the test, I'd do it tomorrow. I love tests.
I got 1050 back in 1994 when it was out of 1600... that's an average score. I went to an alright 4-year college. I worked really hard in college and studied hard for the GRE (the graduate school version of the SAT) and went to Columbia for graduate school. I am successful in my career now. My so-so SAT score didn't ruin my life :).
Don't have "SAT's" here in the UK. Got 3 A*'s and one A in my first GCSE's though. Extremely pleased, though slightly disappointed about the A. Only human biology though, I can survive withought A*
2280… almost perfect on the essay section (I got a 790). Should I be depressed that I still remember that?
In the UK We have SATs for ages 11 and 14 (and 7 these days, I think)... but they're completely different to US SATs as far as I can understand...

Without writing, i think it was 900something but with writing it was 1510
Never heard of that before...which might be due to the fact that I live in the UK.
I did horrible on my SAT and didnt get into my college the first time. So I took the ACT, did well, and got in :].
My score is 2040....and that's just for 10th grade. I really hope I'll get an even higher score later.
I got just above 1100 out of 1600, I thought the test was stupid actually. I didn't even have to take it, I just chose to for some reason (??), I had no real plans to attend a college that would require it. On top of that I had dropped out of high school a year prior to taking it. What I was thinking, I don't know.
I don't remember. It was like two years ago, but it was high. 1,800 I think if that's a high grade. I don't even remember how it is scored. And I didn't study once :)
I bombed! Didnt sudy, was hungover and in a rush to go hang out with my friends. got a 940. Fu*k it:D
Standardized achievement test. Many American universities require them for entry. That or ACTs. My SATs were around 1000. A little on the low side for the school I attended but I kick ass in personality so they let me in :)
I think its a test they do in America before they go to University? I am just guesing roughly because some of my friends want to go to Uni there
The SAT Reasoning Test (formerly the Scholastic Aptitude Test or Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States. The SAT is owned, published, and developed by the College Board, a not-for-profit organization in the United States. It was formerly developed, published, and scored by the Educational Testing Service[1] which still administers the exam. The test is intended to assess a student's readiness for college. It was first introduced in 1901, and its name and scoring have changed several times. TO ANYONE THAT DOESN'T KNOW IT.. ^^;
Being as how the top score is 1600, there are a lot of people lying on this poll.
