Oh shit, I read tornado before child abduction. I would’ve picked that over tornado for sure.

Child abduction of course! I dont have kids but the sickening nature of pedophiles is a real threat to us all.

A huge coronal mass ejection from the sun that catches everyone by surprise and completely fries the electrical supply and distribution system.

The last massive one is called the Carrington Event and it happened in 1859. Back then, the most hi-tech thing going was the telegraph, and the wires basically picked up the electrical charge and shocked telegraph operators and even started a few fires. The current best estimate by scientists is that Earth should be hit by something similar roughly every century, so we're kinda overdue. There are satellites which should give advance warning, but if electrical utilities don't shut down the grid in advance of it hitting, electrical substations could start literally blowing up, and it could take up to a decade to get things back to how they are now.

The only up-side to this is that there would be truly spectacular displays of the Northern (and Southern) Lights for up to a week or so. But I imagine most people won't find that so thrilling after they've been without electricity for a few days.

Being mauled. If I had kids that would probably be number one though.

I have personally never had to live under the threat of most of those natural disasters, nor have I lived in an area with dangerous wildlife. So I never really worried about those things.

A robbery at weaponpoint is generally pretty easy to survive because most people doing that do not want to harm you. If it can be avoided, and the robber is rational they will try to avoid that outcome.

I voted tornado before I read child abduction. I would have voted for that. But in my state we get tornados every year. Last year my sisters house was destroyed and they found my nephew in the yard. They were on the news and shit. He seemed fine at first but months later his back started hurting amd they discovered he had a fractured vertibrae. Hes back playing football again now hes good

It happened in the middle of the night too. It woke them up. Sister had to over a hundred stitches in her feet cause she was running through the house ontop of glass looking for her kids afterwards.
