All of the given options are stupid...
Gameplay comes first, then aesthetics. Everything else can vary. But if a game is utterly dull to look at, or has completely horrendous gameplay, then it just isn't fun.

I would say the story line and graphics. There's nothing I hate more than a game with terrible visual quality.
Gameplay and story line, like so many other people have said. Just look at Zelda.
It completely depends. I am obsessed with playing most games graphically maxed out so my 360 has not been turned on in about 2 years and I have actually taken the hardrive out of my ps3 and connected it to my pc. Some games like deus ex and alan wake I played for the story, others like skyrim and crysis 2 I play for the gameplay.
The story and if it is exactly like Zelda. If it doesn't resemble any Legend of Zelda games, it's automatically terrible.
What everyone else is saying, game play, storyline, features. Square Enix has improved a lot in this, though I hated everything about Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2. I'll be forever waiting on Kingdom Hearts III, I'm just in love with the KH games.
Gameplay level design, graphics show the great design and no DLC as it is over priced for so little value in it.
If I can play a game from start to finish, then play it again and still enjoy it as much as the first time then that is a bloody good game.
Gameplay and plot.
I can play retro games that don't have excellent graphics compared to what we have now, but I play them because of how good they were. Super Mario Sunshine is a fairly old game with lesser graphics compared to some of the later mario games, but I still LOVE it. The story is brilliant and gameplay is made perfect because of F.L.U.D.D.
Interesting original content and well planned game mechanics. Just below those things, for me, comes ability to mod the game. I enjoy doing that almost as much as the game itself, but even if you don't, it ensures you have a nearly unlimited supply of new content from other people.

Competitiveness.
The best part of gaming experience is the online feature that allows you to compete with so many other people. You get to see if you're better, and you get to progress. You get to work with many team mates aswell.
Games such as Halo Reach (My favorite online game) allows you to have a large area to play, a variety of vehicles, variety of weapons, etc.
I would say choice comes second to competitiveness of the online enviroment. Games in which you have choice are great in video games, for example Mass Effect, a great game. It's best part is its story line and how you get to choose how things happen, but it comes second in my list because if I want to watch a story line, I can watch a movie.
