  • I've refused to look into it. I heard that she could potentially win millions and I'm only drawing breath to this day by actively avoiding any information that may validate that as true because if it is infact true she even has a chance to win any money in compensation for her absolute fuck-brain, dumb cunt of a decision then I just don't think I could stop my body from auto-piloting off the highest building I can find.

I was told that she could potentially win the case because the warnings on the gorilla glue bottles say “Do not swallow. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing," they don't say anything about hair. It's ridiculous that she could potentially get money from this. XD

I felt sorry for her abit until I heard shes trying to sue. Shes trash. They should use her video as gorilla glue commercials. They could also make her the gorilla on the bottles

Please let me be on the jury. I wonder if I can get put in jail for laughing uncontrollably through the entire court case.

In the USA, there are always lawyers sniffing around for the scent of money and publicity, and they love potential clients who aren't all that bright.

Americans love to sue people, but a lot of the suits that get media attention because they're so absurd get tossed out of court very quickly.

    • Remember when McDonald's got sued because an old woman used her cooch as a cup holder for her coffee, which was "hotter than normal"?

      Comment Hidden ( show )
  • a-curious-bunny

Yea I looked i to that. She didn't even want to sue. She reached out respectfully and they ignored her existence forcing her hand

    • SwickDinging

Yeah, she was actually pretty legit. Their coffee was significantly hotter than most drinks served to the public in any capacity, and had been flagged as unsafe already. It was actually a genuine danger and they really did need to sort it out. They threw that poor woman under the bus.

Yea they did. Its fucked up what they did. All she wanted was her medical expenses covered wich frankly is entirely reasonable. If I remember right she needed skin grafts and everything. Most others would of been like I want millions. Her na she wanted to not be finicially ruined and they pulled out a whole fleet of busses

        Comment Hidden ( show )
  • I saw a documentary on it

She put the cup snuggly between her legs against her cooch, opened it up to stir in sugar and cream, all while the driver crept forward. It spilled because of the driver and her putting herself in a vulnerable position

Her words and testimony, by the way

Their whole thing was "we just assumed McDonald's would pay for the medical expenses"

Which, yes, they can afford it and yes, morally, I'm glad they did, but let's be real... Gramma done goofed

It seems to me that the dumbest aspect of this stupid story is how she decided the best way to deal with her fuck-up was to make a video explaining what happened and release it into the wild. I'm sure she didn't expect it to go viral, but still...

Like everyone, I've done stupid things and regretted it. But I've kept that to myself and learned from my mistakes.

I know I'm an old fogey, but I do find it very weird how often idiocy is rewarded these days.

    • Something doesn't quite add up for me, she said she posted it because "someone somewhere would have an answer for her" but never thought it would get widespread attention

How do those two things really correlate with each other?

      • RoyyRogers

She said she posted it since someone might have an awsner. That is basically "I dont know what I am doing. Hopefully if I post this for a bunch of randos maybe someone whos been in the same situation will pop up". Like this is literally what online forums are for.

        • I might be looking at it too critically

The two positions just seem to counter each other

Someone somewhere knowing, and lending help

The story not blowing up on social media

Like I don't see how you could operate under both beliefs

          Comment Hidden ( show )
      • Boojum

I have to say that her explanation makes a sort of sense to me. We live in an age when qualified experts in any field are often dismissed as elitist, out of touch with reality, and the source of nothing but Fake News, while loads of people believe that a random collection of strangers on the internet is the best source of good information.

        Comment Hidden ( show )
          -
        • But how could she hope "someone somewhere would have an answer" if she didn't think it would blow up on social media?

I dunno, you may be right, she may have thought someone on her friend list would know what to do

I read about this a few days ago and thought "Why on Earth would anyone think that is a good idea, let alone be shocked that it won't wash out and 'won't move'?" Did she not know what Gorilla Glue was? Lol!

I never heard about the outcome, but I'd imagine she'd probably have to shave her head, wouldn't she? I'd much rather just deal with having no hairspray and have a bad hair day than wait months or years for it to grow back!

Alright to be fair she might have mixed up gorilla glue with gorilla snot. Gorilla snot is a type of hairglue used to spike and style hair. Also its very possible she does not understand what the difference between hair glue and regular glue is. I couldn't tell you the difference myself but generally all I ever used was hair gel at most.

  • I knew her usual spray had glue in the name, I didn't know she intended on buying another hair product with glue in the name

I thought she knew what she was buying when she bought the gorilla glue

Still though, I read the product label vigorously before I buy any hair product. I don't like parabans or phthalates or aluminum or whatever other cheap filler crap some products have, and my hair is only 2A curly

It's her foundation, she does her makeup really well

It is going to do that, because of how burns work. You are the one who does not understand temperature. It was hot enough to cause third degree burns in just a few seconds, but even 140° F water can cause third degree burns in just six seconds of exposure. It's not hard to cause third degree burns.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Clunk42

"Do you understand what kind of heat is required to burn skin in the 3rd degree, regardless of age?" Not very much, actually. It doesn't take that much heat to cause third degree burns. If it stayed in contact with her skin for about five minutes, which isn't an insane amount of time, it could have been half that temperature, and she would have gotten third degree burns. I think you're the one who doen't understand what kind of tempertature is needed to cause third degree burns. "Fast Food" does not imply such a thing; "fast food" only means that the food is served quickly. Also, mouths are more resistant to burns than the rest of the body. People drink coffee that's hot enough that it would burn them in just a second of exposure. You must also realize that the consumer can always remove heat, by waiting, but they cannot add heat, if the drink is already colder than their liking.

I like my coffee served fresh from the pot myself. Ive never heard of any coffee shop waiting until the coffee cooled down. Thats not how you serve it. You realize if you wait until the coffee cools that takes a long time. Then the coffee isnt fresh and its not "fast food" anymore. Its waiting 30 minutes for your coffee to finish cooling.

I had to google it as I haven't heard of it. Well, accidents happen but you have to be blind not to notice that you're spraying your hair with glue. Also the fact that she recorded a video about it and wanted to sue the company is idiotic.

  • I dunno man

I woulda used a cup holder, made sure the car was stationary, noticed the excessive steam and the warmth of the cup, cooled it down with the cream and sugar, waited a few minutes, take small sips

I think our division is you're positing that McDonald's shouldn't serve something that hot and I'm positing that McDonald's isn't a magical provider of consumables that will always be just right for each individual and that people should have some sense of self preservation

I think now that this has been outlined we can both agree that we both are making valid, but different, points

We both agree that's awful for her. We both agree McDonald's was right to pay

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Yes man, I understand to sip coffee before gulping it down

Do you understand it's *foolish* to use your taint as a cup holder to stir condiments into your coffee in a moving car?

Would she not have been burned if it was a little less hot?

As for her legs, is she not elderly? Does that not have an effect on one's skin?

    Again, just to... reiterate

I feel bad for her, I don't think she *deserved* that happening to her, but I do think some *critical thinking skills* would have like... prevented it from happening

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Especially not coffee, no sir, I like my coffee room temperature

But seriously, isn't the skin there like, more sensitive?

I must admit I cringed and felt so bad she went through that when I saw the medical pictures

It's the logic and reasoning behind it all that has me scratching my head

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • I think she needs either shorter or fuller falsies and take the flash off her camera so when she takes selfies she's not so wide eyed
