When are you going to move on?

Is it normal is a habit for some (me) and others have been around for years. Do you see yourself commenting on is it normal forever or will you eventually get a new life and move on sooner?

As long as I'm living off my parents I will troll IIN. 7

    I saw a recent poll that asked if this site has turned into a circle jerk. I think that hit the nail on the head. It's losing interest fast.

    hm, i think it's a phase.

    In the beginning, it was all new and genuine. Now seeing the x-hundreth time the SAME question was accepted through moderation, it kind of gets boring a bit.

    I tried once or twice with what i considered genuine polls/questions, and tended to get them rejected, and didn't have the motivation to even re-attempt...
    (dappled, if you are reading this, feel free to try re-submitting the one we talked about...)

    also, i tended to write long answers, often...or go into detail. Finding that i had no replys(neither from author nor from others and no thumbs up(or thumbs down for that matter) kind of made me think that maybe i was writing too much and people just skipped over the post, anyway. Which also kind of takes from the motivation...so ya, i'm here, but not as much as i used to be in the beginning...

      Just read this. I'll post it if you want but I'm not sure I could do it as much justice as you did. I'm serious. I liked your version above anything I could do. I could re-submit it from memory and it'd probably be pretty accurate because I do remember it quite well. But it's your story and I wanted it to get through on your behalf. I'm still disappointed it didn't.

      If you want me to, though, I will. Just say the word and I'll do it. :)

        ah well, i tried resubmitting it with a reworded question and a bit more detail. *shrug*
        you have IIN gold, if you want, snatch it from unmoderated, because if it doesn't get through again, i'll pass it on to you ^_^

              Yeah. About once a week, I post four stories back to back. My posting day was yesterday. Two approved, two not approved. To be honest, either they should all have been approved or should all have been denied, seeing as they were in the same vein and clearly all jokes.

              And then there's the story of yours which I think is perfectly valid. I want to see it get through and I think it would be one of those that gets a hundred responses within 24 hours as people will want to comment on it. How would you feel if we leave it for a week and then, next weekend, I try posting it word-for-word as myself? If that still doesn't get through, I'll write it myself in my own words and see how that fares.

              I really want to see it get through and, like I said in another post, I can be very determined when I care about something.

    When I left IIN a few months ago, I left because I really disliked being here. There were only a few people left who I actually liked, I felt like me posting comments was pointless as they were no use to anybody, and I just generally felt unwanted and unwelcome here. I hope that when I finally leave, it's for completely different reasons.

    The site is very easy to leave though. I went a few months without thinking about this place. The only reason I came back was because I had a lot of time to kill, which inevitably led me to read the new polls/stories and their comments. I wasn't planning on coming back, but someone said something funny and I just had to comment. It feels good to be back, the place seems a lot nicer. Although I have no idea how long it will last. I don't get notifications very often, and notifications are one of the biggest reasons I come to this site. Having nothing to read is boring. So my answer is: when I'm more bored here than I am not here.

        Sorry. That was bitchy of me.

        It's just you don't seem to have considered that there may be positive reasons for spending time on the site.

        I like (most of) the community. I'd imagine it is a phase that will pass either in months or years. But I don't really find any of your poll options positive, hence the bias. Not everyone is a loser just for spending time here, and that is what your options implied. If that wasn't your intent, then I apologise.

          Well, that wasn't my intent, so I accept your apology. I am leaving IIN myself for my own reasons (mostly because of all the IIN bitchiness) and before I did so, I wanted to see if others felt the same way or are going through the same emotions I am in the process of leaving. My poll options were intended to be realistic, with the exception of the prison option which was thrown in to make the trolls happy too.

      It's not necessarily the site itself, rather the people. The majority are lovely, yet some members have to put up with crap, and it really isn't fair to them. The site is nothing without the members really.

    I have absolutely no idea when I will stop visiting IIN. I guess the time will come that I just get tired of it and decide to move on. At the moment I am pretty much stuck here, as 90% of the people I have come in contact with on IIN are genuinely funny, and quite entertaining!

    The site has its enjoyable moments and I enjoy some of the stories and certainly some of the users. But I mainly spend my time here when I am at work, if I didnt have to work I wouldnt come here as much, as I dont have a home computer and then have to use my phone a lil bit, but thats annoying to do. When the site gets blocked at work I probably wont bother anymore.

    Though I will miss it, but everything that has a beginning has an end.

    Yeah I'm only on here when I don't have my computer cus this is the only site I use that works well on iPhone. I quit for awhile and they changed a lot and deleted my account

    Usually when I get bored of a website, I stop going to it for a few months, then come back to it. Before IIN, I was on Yahoo Answers, then Youtube, then Meez, then on Facebook. For the most part the Internet bores me.

    I thought I had managed to move on. I even stopped reading the site. It's surprising how little interest you muster when you're not part of it. I guess that's the biggest draw; being "part" of it.

    I'm back here for the worst possible reasons; as a replacement for something that is broken, when really I should be fixing what is broken.

    How long am I here this time? Who knows? It's dependent on external factors.
