4th Gen: Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis 3
5th Gen: Nintendo 64, Playstation, Sega Saturn 1
6th Gen: Nintendo Gamecube, Playstation 2, Xbox 6
7th Gen: Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 2

    Between 6th and 7th generation. I think that's when the videogame industry started to overtake the movie industry in revenue.

    I'll be controversial and say 7th gen. At least in general.

    I happened to really like end of th3 8th generation consoles overall though. A few games from the end of the 8th generation's cycle are widely considered to be some of the best we've seen in a long time.

      I dunno if it's just me, but I think that generation is severely underrated. People seem to care more for the prior generation.
