I was born into a pet-owning family. The first pet I owned by myself was stick insects, which I got when I was about 9.
My family always had pets. Some were older than me. And when we got new pets they didn't belong to just one child, they were family pets.
My first pet that was truly mine and only mine I got when I was 25. Friday will be the one year anniversary of his death. :(
6 years old. I got a cat whom I loved dearly. We were inseparable. Still miss him sometimes.
When I was six, I was allowed to get a turtle. Our family has always had many pets. Of course, I have had fish, but that was when I got like... an actual pet that you can interact with.
I was seven years old when I got my first best friend. She was a white mutt named Diamond. She was medium sized with small black and brown spots, short hair with one ear up and one ear down. My Dad said she was a terrier mix. Diamond killed snakes, Norway rats and opossums but she was kind and loving with all the small domestic animals we had as well as wild birds, field mice and cotton tail bunny rabbits. She was a really good dog! She would lay out in the yard sleeping in the sun with our pet guinea pigs and rabbits all around her. Diamond protected them from the predators. She was always there for me when I was sad and the only bad thing she did was dig. She loved to dig and roll around in the mud especially when it rained. But it was worth it! She had the kindest most loving heart, even the sparrows and field mice knew the her gentle heart. I still love her dearly and hope to see her gain when I die!
I had a pet cat when I was about 4, it was a black and white cat which I called Jess and then I used to put it in the back of my postman pat van and drive around with him in it. Fyi any of you bitches mention this again I'll bitch slap you, comprende?
I believe I was actually younger than 6,
for all my life, I recall having cats around,
which gave me my love for them.
We also had a pet spider and python.
Ummm... the first one I bought myself was a tarantula about nine years ago. She's doing just fine. Thanks for askin.
When I was either 4or 5 I got my first cat. (She's still alive!) Then in, I think, 2009 in the winter I got my first dog. The thing is I can't remember how old I was then. :/
When we moved into my grandmother's house when I was two. I miss that doggie :( For a personal pet, 6ish for pygmy possums (but I wasn't allowed to look after them. Too high maintenance) or 10ish for hopping mice.
