When friend dies in computer games i defend his corpse until dying.

So I have this friend, when he dies in computer games (Left 4 Dead for example, it is a zombie survival first person shooter) I gather explosives and run next to his corpse and defend it until I am overrun. When I am about to die I get down beside them and I detonate everything around me in a giant explosive fireball, killing myself (and surrounding zombies). I only act that way with this particular friend, and I know I would act the same way with my girlfriend if she had a computer where she is currently.

I feel and think that if my girlfriend, or friend *and* girlfriend died (In real life that is), I would very probably lay down beside them and kill myself on the spot.

Is this normal?

    This is odd, because I have spent many hours playing Left 4 Dead in the past online playing Versus mode. As my team is competing to complete the map and we are competing against those who are trying to kill us.

    After seeing my team lose many times over trying to protect the one retard who straggles behind and fucks around. We now changed our tactics, if you fall down and if would be a struggle to save you or your away from the group now, we all say "Fuck you" and close the "safety door" without you.

    No point and I have lost way too many times trying to save that one retard who thinks it is a good idea to fuck around on a Versus map. (This also includes the fucktard who keeps running and leaving the three left behind him to fend off his mess. I will not run after you to save you when that one infected gets you way ahead of us.)

      However, this is not me in real life. But honestly, on screen pixels are pixels and I don't care who you are. If you are a fucktard, you can sit outside the door and die while we shut it on you.

      It is a little sad to see you bleed to death right outside of the door but I refuse to fuck with the boomer and hunter guarding you and just sitting there watching you die.

    Totally a normal feeling in real life, not so much in a video game. If you are that obsessed with a game (left 4 dead is an amazing game so its understandable) and are having problems telling fantasy from reality, maybe you should take a break from the gaming champ.

    It's obvious you care a great deal about your friend and girlfriend and as noble as that idea is (killing yourself if they died) is not a good idea. There is so much you can learn from a persons death than you can from their life, which might sound weird but I have lost some close people in my life and have learned many things still.
