When i'm happy/excited, i shake my hands repeatedly. is this normal?

Ever since I was a little kid, I've had this habit of shaking both of my hands when I'm excited or happy. It's a movement similar to washing your hands and shaking them dry because you don't have a towel.

I still catch myself doing this daily, and I'm 25. I think I'm good about not doing it in front of anyone, but if I'm alone or I know that nobody will see it, I shake my hands when I'm happy or excited.

Like today at work, I hung up from a phone call that ended well and I felt pleased with myself. So I shook my hands.

I find it releases nervous energy... or something?

This isn't normal... is it.

I do the exact thing, I thought I was te only one that did it, I always thought that it was a way of relieving excess energy from bein excited or happy, however I felt like it was some weird thing that only I do. I glad to see other people do it too, dose anyone know why??? Other than the other person that said it was aspergers.

I turned it into drumming my fingers.
