    We went out to dinner last night and there was a kitty there the size of my fist. It was SOOO cute! My lady spent an hour playing with it, and I pet it for a few minutes.
    Too bad we can't have a warm and furry on the boat.

        It's become a super headache to travel with a pet. Vet check ups every month and over a C-note extra in fees in many places.

            Whether you take it ashore or not, you are entering a country.
            These islands are rabies free and they intend to keep them that way. They would prefer not to have any pets come through, period.
            Just as a point of interest, in NZ I kept the dog aboard as the law demanded, yet the young, power mad animal control officer (he demanded that the dog be tied up at all times) came one day with a destruction order on the dog (how could it get ashore if it was tied up?). I sat at the gangway with my shotgun across my lap (never pointed it at him) and asked him how badly he wanted to kill my dog.
            Long story short, his boss transferred him to the airport and the new marine officer treated us with some respect (the dog no longer had to be tied up all the time) and all was peaceful for the remainder of our stay.
            Common sense is not always a common thing in some government officials.

              Oh bureaucracy, bureaucracy! NZ probably has the same restrictions as Australia to keep out rabies and other diseases, hence the recent furore about Johnny Depp smuggling in his dogettes in his private plane

    My crazy red kelpie x a couple of hours ago, when I removed the collar which stank from her habit of rolling in possum and wombat poo and replaced it with a new clean one.
