Which animal is better?

I really want a pet fox, but also want a bird. I’ve heard that foxes are becoming domesticated, so I’m thinking about getting one sometime. BUT I also really want a bird.

Foxes usually don't do well as pets. They're often not domesticated when you buy them (tame, but that's about it), they have a strong smell, need a lot of space and can be quite aggressive (as in they will be able to destroy furniture as well, if you're keeping them inside). They're considered one of the worst exotic pets to keep by a lot of people. Honestly, at this point, foxes really aren't supposed to be kept as pets. They're illegal in a lot of places and aren't able to be trained. Plus there's the issue with them burying dead things and toys in your house or garden. A lot of the people you see online who have pet foxes have actually rescued them, which is different to getting one with the intention of keeping them as a house pet.

It's better for both you and the potential fox to stick with the bird.

Absolutely right. And in many places, pet foxes are illegal.

Why don't you get a fox and a bird, put the two together in a room alone, then let the fox and bird decide between themselves which one to keep?

Please don't get a fox. They are meant to be in the wild and it will probably cost a shitload of money and time to set up an environment for them where they will still be happy

Foxes are my favourite animal but owning one as a pet will never happen because here in Australia they are classed as pests and a danger to wildlife. I envy people who have foxes as pets. They don't know how lucky they are.

i hope you get a bird . then i hope you realize you made a mistake and get a fox . then i hope the fox eats the bird. then i hope you realize animals are not pets. only a creep wants a pet in the first place. I voted Bird.
