Just wanted to see what people think. I'll do SNES games next. Obviously, I couldn't fit all NES games onto the list, so I've chosen some of the most popular ones.

Out of the list probably Super Mario 3. Contra was pretty fun be better if I didn’t suck at it. I own it but haven’t played either of those games in like two years. If I’m remembering right I did this cheat to get like 30 lives for something on Contra and it was pretty fun although I never get far. Tengen Tetris is the most played I’ve done on a nes. I got to 300 and something lines I think it was 319 or something I was doing pretty well at that for a while but avoid playing it much because of the rarity.
The Legend of Zelda by a landslide. None of those other games had quite the exploration and discovery factor Zelda did, except for Metroid. I couldn't get into that one because it lacked atmosphere and a feeling that I was visiting a variety of different places. Super Metroid on the other hand is a perfect game in that respect.
The one biggie you're missing here is Solar Jetman, which did have the exploration & discovery factor in a BIG way. Huge maps that had to be traversed carefully, hidden areas, secret exits, upgradeable equipment. The music was also really good.

Dude, mario bros all the way. I get them emulators and play all them old roms on my pc. My fav is playing a sega mastersystem emu with sonic the hedgehog 1 n 2
