taste because familiar smells usually make me smile and be happy to live like grass, vanilla or the Forrest they all trigger happy memories, moments that I pushed deep into the back of my brain when I needed to
Yeah smell, I can go on life without smelling smelly people's armpits and farts.
I lost my hearing 2 years ago, not a joke. Life sucks with a disability. Take care of your ears and your eyes, etc. Don't listen to overly loud music!!! This is what happened to me - too much subwoofer and boom boom since 1993 (when i first got a woofer and amp) killed the cilia in my ears. I am just very very happy i can SEE.
if i had no choice but to lose just one. i would say, the feeling of touch, cause what ever happens nothing will hurt you anymore but what you can hear.
You should have made this question, "which one is WORSE to lose?"
Because I wouldn't want to lose any of these.
I always thought smell and taste goes hand-in-hand when it comes to food. So I'd rather lose my sense of smell. It'd be sad if I could only smell the delicious food but not taste it. Might as well not smell it in the first place.
Smell. The other senses are much more beneficial. Unfortunately, I hate saying this because smells do bring you back to nostalgic memories. However, they say music is memory. I could never give that up, or seeing my beautiful girlfriend, or kissing her.
smell or taste! 1. I don't wanna smell farts or armpits! 2. I can bet people all eat garbadge for $100,000,0000,000! 'Cause, I can make a fortune outta that, and I cann finally get a dog!
SMELL!! Sight and hearing are obviously important, and if I lost my sense of touch, I might get burnt and not realise it. I love food, so not taste, so that leaves us with smell. Even if my sense of taste went down 50%, there's still the other 50%
I'd lose my taste because most of it actually comes from smell so I wouldn't notice much
considering my allergies are that severe, i already have lost my sense of smell...
It really depends on how much pain is involved.
Touch = Would i lose my fingers
Smell = Does my nose get chopped
Taste = My tounge disappears
Hearing = No ears
Sight = No eyes
Touch. I would love to not feel people brushing up against me. HATE that feeling!
taste. to be honest my favorite part of foods are the textures on my tongue anyway. assuming my sense of smell isn't affected.
I think if you lose your sense of taste or smell, you lose the other as well, not 100% on that.
I could never imagine life without smell. There is so much information to lose with it. I wouldn't be able to check my system, tell the ingredients of certain foods (like homemade sauces), or most importantly, track people when I've lost my way. I also wouldn't be able to see as many colors if I lost smell, and my whole sensory system would go a bit lazy on me.
Sight, hearing and touch are given essentials in the world of today (despite the attempts to help those with these handicaps). I have no choice but to relinquish taste. Even though I would no longer enjoy my favorite foods, I could optimize my diet without the hindrance of unfavorable vegetables or addicting "junk food".
Taste. I could use it to my advantage.
I have no idea why most people selected "smell". Sure, you won't be able to smell other people's farts and stanky arm pits, but you won't know whether you smell or not. You won't know if your milk or meat is off (unless you taste it, then it'll be too late). Unless everybody else looses their ability to smell, there's really no point in it.
Just so you know, there are many more senses than just 5, but obviously they're the big ones we're all aware of. I'd lose taste.
Taste. If you give up smell, you lose taste as well. So I'll take taste to minimize the damage. But if I could selectively lose smell without losing taste as well, I think I'd give up smell.
If you lose your sense of smell, you'd be sitting in your armchair at home and not realize there's a fire burning down everything in your house and realize only when it burns you. SO THERE! You seriously want to lose your sense of smell? Do you? DO YOU?!
Smell or taste, definitely.
I don't particularly like smelling things, the only thing it's good for is taste. And checking to see if something has gone off, so taste. XP
but maybe it wouldn't be so bad to have no taste because then maybe i wouldn't eat so much..?
Smell. Smelling things sucks. It either makes you hungry or poorly.
To lose the sense of touch is the worst to lose though. If you can't feel anything, you would feel dead because nothing would register. Walking around would feel the same as lying down, for example.
I have to choose sight
I'm a musician, no matter how crummy i am that won't change, so I can't lose my hearing
touch is as much part of listening for me as hearing itself
taste, what if every food you ever had had no taste, where would be the little things you could spoil yourself with?
so I choose sight, because we no longer live in a world were its impossible to get by without it
besides
who doesn't like blind pianists?
Smell. My sense of smell is almost gone anyway so it wouldn't make much of a difference.
Smell - I wouldn't want to completely lose my sense of smell since I'd also lose my sense of taste, but my nose is too sensitive. I'd appreciate not retching at the smell of dirty public toilets or my cats' litterboxes.
Taste. Not a major disadvantage, and I probably would never have to face weight problems in my life.
mine would be smell.... then atleast if someone had done a smelly shit in the toilet i could still go in after them.
Hard to choose, and if you lose your smell then you lose your taste altogether. Just the other day I was almost killed by a big fucking truck coming my way. Without the senses sight and hearing I would've been dead. I need touch.. Wouldn't want to get shot and walk around not knowing while I'm bleeding out or wont enjoy sex anymore >_>.
Taste, I'm not all that into food anyway. I'd probably need smell, to tell if there's somehting harmful in the air.
taste, losing this sense would bring benefits from being able to eat healthy foods which i hate the taste of
I say hearing. There are places on a womans body that look so nice, feel so nice, are so fragrant, and taste delicious. Yea, Hearing can go.
Taste is the most limited. My diet has been very limited for health reasons so I wouldn't be giving up much. Most of what we call taste is in smell or texture anyway.
I would lose my sight because even if i cant see i can still feel pain, taste, and hear
not sight, not sound, not feeling, not taste! if i had to maybe mostlysmell but omg i love the smell of my boyfriend and his room sooooo yummy lol, but maybe taste cuz yea, some stuff tastes nasty! and i always get called a picky eater.
