Which of these countries from greatest to least would you live?

In six weeks I'm moving to Thailand to go teach English to get some experience. I probably won't be able to stay there forever not because I'm not drawn to Thailand, but they don't pay enough money. I've been doing research on which countries pay ESL teachers the most after hearing about college graduates paying off all their student loans within a five-year span.

Four of the countries on the shortlist I won't dare go near. They're in the Middle East, and the other five are in the Far East. Before anyone answers, there's something I should make abundantly clear to everyone. I'm not asking which are your favorite countries to visit. I'm asking everyone to LIST IN ORDER WHICH OF THESE FIVE COUNTRIES WOULD YOU WANT TO LIVE IN FOR THREE OR FOUR YEARS FROM GREATEST TO LEAST DESIRABILITY.

China
Japan
South Korea
Vietnam
Taiwan

I will completely ignore your question.

I will also tell you this:

Thailand does pay less than other countries in your list BUT the living expenses in Thailand is so ridiculously cheap that you can actually save money faster there than you would in other countries.

If you don't mind living in disease ridden, backward, turd world country filled with cheap prostitutes and lady boys, go for it

Well these are all very nice countries. Probably
    Japan
    South Korea
    Taiwan
    China
    Vietnam

Japan is a lovely place! The food is amazing, but somethings are pretty expensive. Its such a lovely place, everyone is so polite! japan is simply delightful. However there are smokers everywhere and you can smoke inside buildings, cafes, restaurants etc. so that is a con for me (I hate smoking and the smoke and everything about smoking).

Korea is also a nice place, its basically like Japan. I don't like the food as much but its a lovely place. The people there are very friendly too.

Honestly it depends where in china though. I think Hong Kong is great, Taiwan, Singapore and Macau are good as well but everything else... nope. Its because they are more 'westernized' so its the conditions are...better.

Well these are my opinions of the countries from personal experience.

What is it about North Korea that makes you so obsessed?

  • I would live in Japan, followed by not wanting to live in the following countries in no particular order.

Japan seems to be everyone's most favorable for some reason.

I visited China already. I like it, but I don't think I'd like to live in a country without access to YouTube and Facebook (sure you have VPNs but I don't like those).

What? Well, I lived in hong Kong for some time and I was able to access Youtube and i know in Macau you can but I don't know about some other places. I guess it does depend, but I think its because hong kong is much more westernized.

Hong Kong and Macau are more of an exception than a rule in China. It is Mainland China (i.e. communist) I am talking about here. Hong Kong and Macau are special regions that don't fall under a lot of rules the PRC sets.

Thank you. You're probably right about living in a country without YouTube and Facebook.

  • Japan, Taiwan, then China. This is based on firstly: scenery, climate, and culture.
