I barley even remember my school days. When every waking moment of your life is a living hell it all just kinda blurs together and becomes redundant to the point of not even remembering it. Welcome to the first 19 years of my life.
Most people can agree school fucking sucks. a bunch of hormonal achne ridden kids forced to sit in a tiny room and learn about things they don't give a shit about for 6 hours a day. additionally if you don't fit the cut socially you get mocked and bullied, and most times teachers don't even give a shit. To me, however, my last two years of highschool was relatively great compared to most of middleschool as most kids had somewhat matured and we were all too busy studying to give a shit.
I really can't answer, I'm currently in school and while I'm not dumb, I'm not really really smart.
I code in my free time, and for some reason, I'm getting huge waves of stress from just thinking about having to do tests and stuff like that.
I wouldn't say my school days are the best, but at the same time, they are not the worst, I'm kinda popular and I like my friends circle.
I grew up in the USA and I wouldn't say I found school highly traumatic. I was always one of the biggest kids in my class, so even though my family was pretty weird in some ways and I was a geek before that was even a word, I was never bullied.
Looking back, I do think it was a huge waste of time, though. It was all about jumping through pointless hoops, and I've long suspected that I could have achieved a lot more in life if I'd been lucky enough to have had a few teachers who were really inspiring and actually gave a shit about their pupils.
My wife's experience of school in The Netherlands was very similar to my own.
This is why, when we realised a few years ago that the British school our daughter was attending was utterly shite, we decided to home educate. We're into our fourth year of this now, and she's far happier, much more advanced intellectually and a lot more well-rounded emotionally than either her mother or I were at her age.
neither cause i was in school in a varietya places & capacities from age 6 to 22 and im a nuanced and thoughtful person not prone to black & white judgements
I found school boring. None of the subjects interested me and I had a hard time making friends. It probably didn't help that my family was always moving to different places. Lol
School was fine.
But honestly, it did very little to prepare me for real life.
If you count uni then I’m still at school but primary/high school were the worst days of my life so far. Not because anything particularly bad happened, nothing bad has ever really happened to me so they were the worst just because they were boring.
I look back on them as being cringey. But I accept what I did in my past. I understood my logic but in hindsight I could of made better judgements.
