I guess most people would say LCD because it's more expensive technology and so somehow "better". But, in all truth, even though I come from a science background, I genuinely didn't understand how plasma displays worked until I just went and looked it up.
It is a good question, though. How do we attribute value to things we don't even understand? And why would people be so willing to do so?
my uncle had a plasma tv back when plasma screens were new. He went to plug him his casino game into it, but after a few hours of playing it, he destroyed his tv cause the image was burnt in. Plasma screens are junk. Buy an lcd, cause they are cheaper, last longer, and dont have problems with burn in. And you can actually play your xbox on it.
plasma has better picture quality but it's overpriced and will lose quality and wont last long because it has gas in the cells that leaks out or fades away
I recently picked up a DLP and love it. I used to have an LCD. DLP gives same picture quality as LCD and plasma, without the risk of screen burn in. My blacks and whites are very dark and bright, respectively. Very rich colors. It's a Mitsubishi 65 inch. That coupled with my Blu-ray and surround sound... Ahh.
it doesnt matter about how it looks or more power the fact is plasma tvs take the picture longer to load, no one sees the actually technologically behide it. plasmas burn their light quicker. look behind the scenes right before u buy the tv. =) theres more to it i dont feel like writing.
Plasma has 'BLACKER' blacks. Besides, they are both obsolate with the advent of 'LED' television. I have not see '3D' tv yet, but an 'LED' tv is required.
