Which pain is worse?

Which of these physical pains would you find the most excruciating? Even if you had to guess because you've never actually experienced some of them?

Details:

#1 Ligaments on the outside of your ankle snap as it turns over while you are running, full-tilt, downhill.

#2 A heavy steel door suddenly swings back over your foot and rips your big toenail completely off. Blood, everywhere.

#3 Having your wisdom teeth removed.

Note: These are all things that have happened to me and I'm curious which you think is worse.

#1 Torn ligaments in ankle. 61
#2 Toenail ripped off. 63
#3 Wisdom tooth removal (during & after). 15

I can't say that I have felt any if them, but the one that made me flinch most was the toenails, so I'll say #2.

    Torn Ligaments.
I've had this before and I can tell you it's definitely more painful than a broken bone, one of the worst pains I have ever had.

But! There's worse, I have an exposed nerve in one of my molars, you can't do a damn thing while it's exposed, every little thing hurts it!
    It's fucked.
    Definitely the worst pain, ever.

  • I'd say #1. It happened to the old man in Pet Sematary, that part still makes me wince.

once i did something that was really fucking stupid and involved a bike chain that ripped my fingernail off. the blood swells up underneath the nail and eventually forces the damn thing off. was'nt much blood loss though.

#1 is definatly the most painful...unless the dentist doesnt give you any drugs......the worst thing that ever happens to me was a compound fracture and dislocated elbow....just so you know......on the inside...your bones are a buttery yellow color...at least when blood is on it

The ripped off toenail has happened to me, but I didn't even realize it happened until I saw all the blood. I never felt any real pain either. Nerves are weird. However, my friend had the torn ligament and he said it was the most excruciating pain he ever felt in his life.

    1. Severe pain, inability to walk, 1-2 months of recovery time.

    2. Severe pain, mild blood loss, 2-4 weeks recovery time

    3. Oxycontin

I say 1 is the worst because it will hinder your day to day life the most.

Reading the title I thought was gonna be a "birth - kick in the nuts" situation! I would say #1 BY FAR!! I think inner pain like that and breaking arms and stuff is the most painful. The toe one, of course it would hurt but not nearly as much.

I'm going with #1. I bet I'll fall over after the ligaments snap...
#2's pain would only be for a short while.

#1 happened to me, and I was the worst thing I hace ever felt. I remember actually saying I wanted to cut my leg off, lol. But #2 is a close tie.

Number 2 sounds craaazy, but at least that's like a quick pain. I chose 1 because it just seems like the pain would last a long time.

Don't understand #3 - did you not have anaesthic?

Although, I had a molar removed once and the dentist hadn't froze my mouth properly. OMG I screamed the place down and could feel it half in half out while he went for more anaesthetic. I could've killed him!

    all pain sucks,
but i kinda freaked out a bit when you categorized "wisdom teeth" as pain, i have a wisdom tooth but i don't feel pain, wanted to remove it but after what i read here i think I'll pass,>,<

I snapped anterior cruciate and medial ligaments in a stupid accident, plus I've taken my big toenail off in another accident. Neither was funny. The big toenail hurt for a shorter time but the ligaments hurt just as much to start with and hurt for longer (six to eight weeks).

Neither of them begin to approach pleurisy, though. I would rather lose a digit than go through that again.
