What kind of unlikely pet have you always wanted or want to be friends with (it still lives in the wild but you visit it often and develop a bond)?

An unusual pet? Aye, matey! I sail the cruel blue seas o' the Caribbean with me trusty parrot, 42 years me junior, and cuss at it whilst I sip me rum, I do.
I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not I want a bat, a crow, or a shark.
Bats are good for scaring people with, I guess, and I can attach a camera to one and have him spy on people for me.
Crows are pretty cool, they're very intelligent birds with excellent communication skills. When they attack people, they usually aim straight for the eyes or the neck; if I'm cool with them, maybe they'll protect me or something, but they'll probably shake me down for food and shiny objects in return for their protection. Anyone who messes with me might find himself in a "cawffin." Oh, and because most of the birds from the Corvidae family can imitate sounds that they hear, I can use one to annoy or torment people (I'll have it learn to imitate a blow-horn).
I don't know what I'd do with a shark, but I'd feel like a James Bond villain, which I imagine would be a pretty cool feeling.
We would very much like to get a pair of Sugar Gliders. Unfortunately, we can't figure out a way to get them down to the Caribbean, safely.
I'd want a demon as a pet. They're quite good for collecting the blood of your enemies, and they're very nice once you get past the "stealing people's souls and ripping their hearts out" part.
I'd actually like a big tank of moon jellies or corals, but a bonnet head shark...or a leopard shark...or a blue ringed octopus would be tempting. Omg- a giant tank the size of a wall with North American sea nettles!!!! Ahhhh
Maybe a bonus lemur for cuddles...obvs with their wrist stink gland deactivated.
Although, I do own parrots and would love to own a Hyacinth Macaw. But they love way too long for me so I could not do that to one.
I chose a skunk. I got to pet one at a petting zoo one time and they are very docile and their fur is soft. It was almost like a cat.
Armadillo they are so cool & adorable!! But yes like you say, I would rather it can just roam free and visit me sometimes, for cuddles<3 and no they don't have leperosy!!!
