Whiskey and shotgun

So I have gotten to the point where I come home from work everyday and have a few glasses of whiskey. I like to sit in my chair and I also have this habit of cleaning my shotgun everyday. I just like to fumble with it its soothing to me. I like to take it apart, lubricate it, put it back together while I watch TV. My wife tells me I'm crazy when I say this but I am at this point totally convinced that whiskey taste better with a shotgun. This is not a troll post.

I have tried the whiskey with and without the shotgun and I can definitely tell the difference. Its just abit smoother. Not even just about taste but the whole experience. I enjoy doing this daily. I know how ridiculous this sounds but there is something to this. Maybe the smell of the gun grease with the oaky barrel notes. Im not sure.

I clean my guns with a glass of scotch too. I also have a rule that there is never ammo in the same room when I clean guns

  • You probably feel safer with the gun and therefore relax enough to enjoy the whiskey better

I'm a whiskey/beer drinker. When I'm doing something I enjoy I tend to drink a few extra frothies. It's normal bud.

Normal; and both the wisky and shotgun relax you.

Might I suggest that you take up more hobbies... to keep you more busy. Perhaps shooting skeet, perhaps other things.

Lots of activity groups... Lots of interesting people to meet.

You might even find an activity group for something that both you and your wife enjoy. That would make her happy too... and a happy wife leads to a happy life... ;)

Most the skeet shooters in my area are middle class. I have 2 gun clubs with active skeet programs within 7 miles of my house. My annual dues at the one I belong to is I believe $100/year.

There's a modest fee for participating in the planned skeet shoots (I think $15/session to cover the cost of pigeons: I have never participated). Of course, you have to supply your own gun and ammo.

But, you are free to show up an any time and use the skeet range as long as there is not an organized skeet shoot going on. Bring your own pigeons in this case, and use the launch devices they have (have someone show you how to use them if you don't know).

        • How much does it cost for pigeons? I bet that would really do wonders for your aiming.

Walmart list a case of 90 for about $35. That should last you at least several sessions - perhaps more.
