White lies.

Do you guys ever tell white lies? For no reasonvat all.

For example my mother asked me if I worked today and I said yes even though I didn't because I didn't want her to ask a million questions about what I was doing that day. There was no reason for me to lie, I just did it to make it easier. Make sense?

This one time my husband lied to me and told me he drank all the juice. I got so pissed, I just bought it and the thought of him drinking all of it without sharing made me so mad. He just laughed at me, which of course made me more angry. But he really didn't drink any of it. He just wanted to see how I would react.

This happened more than five years ago and he still teases me about it. And I still get angry when he pretends to drink all the juice. It's quite silly.

But, obviously you had a reason..." because I didn't want her to ask a million questions about what I was doing that day"...."I just did it to make it easier"....so, um...duh....

That's quite clearly lying for a reason...2 reasons, actually.

Sometimes people ask me a question and I know the truth will be wrong to them, so I answer it falsely, but with that tone of voice that is supposed to clue them in that I'm lying. Those who get the joke laugh and don't ask any more questions. Those who don't get it and believe I am sincere are also satisfied and move on to another topic. It's so funny and I've avoided many conversations I didn't want to have.

I only tell white lies occasionally, i tend to be brutally honest, and that's not necessarily a good thing either, i can be mean...but yeah, i tend to tell lies for the fun of it.

Well I lie for the sake of a joke all the time. But the lies are quite clearly lies because most of the time they're so absurd (deliberately) that you'd have to be extremely gullible or a fool to think they're true. Does that count? Even then there's still a reason. Isn't there always a reason?

If you're doing it for a reason like not wanting to be bugged or not to hurt someone's feelings, then it's normal. If you start to compulsively tell these "white lies" for no apparent reason and can't stop it, then you have a problem.

Taking the easy way out can turn into a very difficult thing. Be careful in what choices you make in life.

Yeah. Those are fine. Sometimes I tell them and I just feel dumb. But it just seems easier.
