    having a crush on some one living in a very far away country, you don't know whether he/she is real ,whether they're truthful or just lying and you don't know them in real life.. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE CRUSH ON SUCH A PERSON!!!! its a folly! and you get nothing in the end.

      Not true. There is such a thing as Skype. There is also a private messaging option for users with gold memberships. There's a chat room on IIN. A few users post their email addresses in their profiles. You can get to know someone long before you ever meet them IRL. It's true, there are people on IIN who have met in person.

      They comment a lot, have a good sense of humour, show a lot of intelligence in their comments, their opinions show they have decent values... the list goes on.

      People who value personality over looks would be able to see the inner beauty of users through the way they articulate their opinions on a variety of topics here.

    I haven't developed anything for anyone on this site but I have online via people I've met via gaming. Liking someone isn't really something you choose, it just happens. That is why when it did happen to me, I embraced it fully and let them know anyway and for a while, they were worthwhile things. Its not like I'm going to say "Ah crap, I'm starting to like someone but I'm gonna slap myself until it goes away, its all impossible I tell you!" Also, just for people's information, I've never gotten that far in my emotions without video chatting and video chatting OFTEN enough for that to happen, not just from text or profiles, that is a common assumption from people that haven't experienced it.

    I don't see the point in developing a crush on someone I'll never meet nor do I see the point in trying to pick people up online. I will however, compliment people on appearance and or personality when the mood strikes me and I feel it's merited.

    Precisly why i dont develop such "crushes" on profiles. because thats what they are. profiles.

        I wonder this too. You often hear attractive girls complain that people only see their beauty and how hard it is to be beautiful but when push comes to shove they'd rather retain those powers.

    Not on this site- or maybe just a couple. but so many on other similar sites, I am a girl, but I think some of them have liked me too, its really strange though, kind of hard to explain, it was more a love for the characters they portrayed through online interaction with avatars and that sort of thing

    i could see it, if you talk to someone long enough, and read enough of their comments, its possible to crush on an iin user. if lots of people crush on celebrities and fictional characters, then an iin user dosen't seem far-fetched at all.

    I've been here only for a few days but find the community dynamics really interesting. I can completely see how crushes can be made, but I'm totally with all the other people who are cautious about profiles. It would suck to fantasize about a user being your dream guy/girl, but then realize they are not who they say they are.

    Just my luck, I'LL be "that" person to get a crush on a user.

    I've never had a crush on another user on THIS SITE. On other websites definitely. especially in MMOs. Although I will admit some of the stories in the adult section are pretty hot, but I wouldn't say I have a crush on the people who tell them. Don't even remember their names.
