Who is biggest liar you’ve ever met in real life?

Who is the biggest liar or biggest fraudulent person you’ve ever seen or met in your life? Only rule: Can’t use any famous politicians like democrats or republicans: Unless you have actually personally met that politician in person and know that they are a liar? For me, If Id have to go with personal people Id just say a classmate or perhaps a teacher I had in High school were the biggest liars I know.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I had a friend in high school who convinced everyone for some time that
-he had a brother who had committed suicide when he was younger
-he was in a punk band with a couple of older, skinhead friends, "Dave" and "Johnno" called "Forthright fighting men"
-Stories of his antics and escapades with his bandmates Dave and Johnno continued for many years, without anyone ever actually meeting them.

    He never had a brother.
Dave and Johnno and the band were figments of his imagination, the bandname "forthright fighting men" comes from a lyric featured in a song in the 1992 Australian Film "Romper Stomper"

These were only some of his lies. It was 20 years ago and I can't remember them all, but those ones stuck out.

I had a friend in college who would constantly lie. At one point we knew he was a liar and we all just pretended to believe him. He would lie about travels he had made or he'll make. I met him once in town and casually ask him what's up and the first thing he says is that he had just gotten home from X island and that he was travelling again the next week. I dont know why he did that.

I see him every time I’m talking to someone with sunglasses on.

    Great guy though.

My best friend in high school was able to lie through his teeth. Nice guy, but he liked to trick people. One time at a party, he convinced everyone that he had a lie detector on his phone, then asked everybody if they had dreamt about him. Came up False every time someone said "no", then he got pissed at me when I refused to answer. He wouldn't ever cop to a lie, either. Just go up to a random dude and convince them that whatever happened in an anime that day had happened in real life. He got in trouble once because faculty believed that HE really believed that his "Death Note" killed people.

All that ended soon after high school, though. He wanted to become a cop but was denied for a bullshit reason, so he became a mechanic instead, got married, and was never heard from again (he left Facebook).

Other than that, there was a guy I worked with in retail. I saw him exactly one time, and I'm pretty sure it's because he got fired or quit. He was taking some stuff out of the back room without scanning it. I told him he had to scan it, he told me he would "do it later." I told him he can't actually do it later, because the scanning system makes that impossible to do (not literally, but it takes longer when that was the only item on the shelf, and it's going to read as still available until someone does it, which screws everybody if he "forgets"). He scoffed and scanned the stupid thing, then left.

Sounds like a small thing, but "I'll do it later" people just irk me. I'm not your boss, if it could be done later, I wouldn't be telling you to do it now.

Guy I met in college after the navy. He was so full of shit. A marine with one year under his green belt before his kneecaps buckled under his weight. But he was talking it up like he was an undeniable badass. Since we were the only two people who were veterans people just assumed a sailor and marine would just be friends.

Quite the opposite. That marine brings dishonor by slandering what the navy does. We all poke fun at one another for what branch you served under and your perspectives but nothing is more insufferable by being told that you weren't the "real" military by an asshat that survived basic.

He made up a bunch of horse shit stories, nothing too enthusiastic but still bullshit none the less. How you can tell? Not enough mundane humor among his stories. If it didnt contain blood, explosions, or hookers that story wasnt told.

Or how many were like cooks or maintenance men when they were deployed to Afghanistan but they all have a war story like they saw combat

Oh yeah navy seals are a tier above. Never met one truth be told. Just because navy is in the name dont mean jack shit for seeing them about. I did see one of their buildings though so that was cool.

Nothing is more infuriating than to see someone turn thier military experience (if they even had one) into call of duty for a captivating story.

I'm navy so the closest thing I got to a captivating tail was us in international waters being tailed by a chinese ship and they were being tailed by a japanese ship. Listening over the radio because the radio man waved me over to listen. Pretty much the chinese and Japanese sailors were trash talking eachother over us being remotely close to the south china islands... in terrible English. Funniest shit I've ever gotten a glimpse at. With our Japanese ally really egging the chinese on. Nothing happened of course. That would of made the news if it did.

I know what you mean. When everyone of their storylies paints them in good light its obvious bs. No one goes through life only taking W's in all situations. If someone protrays themself like superman theyre full of shit.

I'm not just talking about it all being wins. I'm talking about simple shit mundane stories that were funny.

I remember when we had a toga party in the operations berthing (inteligence barracks) and people were acting out Ugandan knuckles memes. Just simple stupid stories like that. Anyone who has served knows its 95% waiting for shit to happen. For the navy its 50/50 when you are docked not alot of shit to be done but when underway a shit ton to be done an hour ago.

Sure if I cant bend a coin in half. But I'll make sure the ship doesnt crash into the coral reef and drown half of you. We all have our jobs. Just because you signed on to get shot at doesnt make the support personel any less important for your continued existance.

Ironically enough he didnt realize in off chance for war it would be my job to navigate his ass from the ship to the beach avoiding naval mines.

This guy I dated in high school was obviously a compulsive liar. He himself told me he often made up lies without being sure why, and about completely insignificant things, sometimes just to impress people. For example he would go around telling people he is invicible/cant injure himself and genuienly thought people would believe him and to the point where he'd casually arrive at school going "by the way a car hit me on the way here, AGAIN, but i'm fine as you can see". Unfortunately I was a shy awkward teen which he clearly took advantage of by dating me in the first place (he was more "popular" than me in a lack of better wording) so I really thought he was always honest with me though. He wasnt, to say the least.

This family friend owned a gym and his brother would just rapid fire lie about pointless things. Usually about things he could do, or whos ass he's beaten, or how much weight he lifted "years ago". He's the first one that comes to mind. I just remember everytime he opened his mouth id cringe.

Easily an asshole I did a paid internship with in college. The guy thought he was the human embodiment of charm and charisma. Which was kind of annoying because he was a very conventionally attractive and intelligent person, so it wasn't entirely unwarranted

He'd do shit like tell our boss he had a meeting with one of our clients, only to meet with them with the intention of trying to steal the client for his startup business, which just so happened to be the exact same industry as the company we were interning at. He bragged about it to me and obviously thought our boss, who was a nice guy and maybe too trusting for his good, was a complete idiot and deserved to be milked for all he was worth

His brand of lying was especially obnoxious because if you called him out, he'd say he wasn't lying because technically he WAS meeting with a company client and other excuses like that. The guy was just one of the most entitled shits I've ever met and would exaggerate, downplay, or omit details entirely to such an extent that you really couldn't call his version the "truth"
