This doesn't sound like a "which gender is superior" question to me. From a realistic standpoint, men hold most high-power political, economic, and social positions, so I'd say men rule the world and have for a long time. I think we're approaching a more egalitarian society, but we're definitely not there yet.

Firstly, neither gender have dominance over the other, one does not control the other's actions. Therefore, they do not rule!
Secondly, like Fire said, why can't it just be humans?!?! And whether humans truly rule the world is debatable in itself!
Why do you have to be one of those people who creates a separation between the two genders!? It's like asking who rules the world: Black or white people?
The gender of a person does not make them superior, neither does their skin colour. The only way to judge how great a person is, is through their actions, and even that's unreliable.
Now seriously, if you genuinely believe that one of these genders "rules the world", then please open your fucking mind and grow the fuck up! Nothing pisses me of more than people like you!

What I meant was that if a man ordered me to do something, I wouldn't do it because he's a man, so men don't rule women. And vice versa.
And although I do believe that humans rule the world to an extent, many people believe that we don't, hence the earthquakes, tsunamis etc...

Because the human species have far more lables than just "Humans" and if we have better descriptions of a group of humans that is an answer to a queastion such as this, then those more details rather than "humans" is what is needed to answer the question. What I love is that everyone is fine and happy to say "most criminals are men" or "Most rapists are men" but when it comes to something that shows power for the male gender, then oh God, it should be labled "humans".

Depends how you look at it. Those women might think that they rule men, because a lot of women can get most men to do whatever they want.
But if you look at the bigger picture and the world of politics, then men, without a doubt.
But I don't think either "rule" the world, like I said above I wouldn't obey someone purely because they are a man. Or a women. Therefore, neither rule. So I think that's why people were commenting saying, "just humans".

Obviously men do. Men are the leaders in nearly all societies and males are the ones that fight for their leaders better in their societies, the same goes for great inventors being male. To be fair, societies were made by males mostly, if not all of them made by males.
Alot of females don't like it, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be acknowledged as a fact.I also love that when it comes to males having the upper hand and being seen as something great and good that all the females are like "This is stupid, why don't you say "humans" as a whole instead of it just being men?" and yet they are happy to acknowledge males as the bad guys when it comes to crime and rape.
"Men rule the world" is to be translated to "Humans rule the world"

I thought this poll was going to be grounds for interesting debate when I openned it. Biggest let down of my day was what it actually was.
Neither is the obvious, correct, answer. If men or women organised themselves into co-ordinated attack they could gain "control", but why would they bother? Nothing would be solved.
