It seems that generally, the users here look up to female educators. That confirms an article I read about a study that says females make better teachers. Interesting...

Her name was Ms. L. A teacher I had my two last years of high school. And besides teaching my two favorite subjects, she had a PhD in what I'm going to college for and she was also a dog trainer. I looked up to her a lot, and she helped me the most when I was going through a very difficult time. She would take me with her during her lunch brake just so we could chit-chat about stuff. She always told me how she hated that I was her student because that prevented us from hanging out outside of school. I miss her.

I can openly say that she was like a female dappled.

Miss R. She was strict and slightly scary and she made us have extra maths lessons in the evenings (until 9pm) to the detriment of her having any social life. She was always single despite being a very attractive woman. If anything she was too dedicated to her profession. Grade A at A-level used to be a rare beast indeed and virtually unknown at an underfunded shithole like my school. I got one and although I worked hard for it myself, her contribution can't be underestimated. I don't think I'd have got it without her. To put it into perspective, the grades I got allowed me to study at Oxford. It was only my lack of class that would have stopped me.

I have got to say my teacher from college (sixth form). We are still in contact until this day. She was such a positive influence in my life and continues to be. She taught me how to go out, be confident and have fun. She made me realise I should live life to the fullest. She changed my whole life around and the way I look at life. She has honestly been the best role model in my life ever.
I am a bit drunk now as I type this but I genuinely love her. She makes me the person I am today.

After 9th grade i had to go to a small school for troubled kids and there were a few teachers there that I really liked. Probably because they, unlike at my normal school, understood that we had issues and they knew how to deal with us. The ladies were just sweet and caring and the men were funny as hell. I think I always got along better with the men for some reason, and no I'm not being dirty right now. They just had great sense of humor which is something that means a lot to me. I appreciate people who can make me laugh when i need it the most. So Mr. M and Mr. G, I love you guys!!!!

No teacher has ever, so far, utterly revolutionised my life. There's no single favourite who jumps to mind, and only one or two I have passionately hated. The ones I admire are more for their personality and their understanding of me rather than their ability to teach me things. My personality makes it hard for me to build a personal relationship with any teachers, so the ones that have managed to do that, of which there are three or four, are my favourites.

"No teacher has ever, so far, utterly revolutionised my life."

No, I tell a lie. Mr. G, who taught me maths, wasn't just a teacher of maths but a teacher of life skills generally. Sometimes he'd take whole chunks of lessons and just tell us about life, and gave my life a new perspective. He left school when I was 14; I think I would have got on a lot better with him if I had known him when I was a little bit older. As it was, when I had him I was too insular to talk to teachers at all. He started working in games development, I think - or something like that - after teaching, and he appeared on the TV news once and talked about maths.

His name was James, a lecturer at my uni. Pretty much all the lecturers I'd previously had were pretty bad- they were bored, boring, not great at explaining things or communicating properly, and it seemed like they thought that they had better things to do than talk in front of hundreds of students who probably not paying attention anyway. James, however, was fun, passionate about his area of expertise, enthusiastic, genuinely cared about his students, and was able to hold everyone's attention. I actually looked forward to his lectures every week. He taught a sociology subject, and his interest in teaching was evident as soon as he walked into the lecture room, with a big smile on his face, removing his shoes to get comfortable as if he'd just stepped into his home, and sitting down next to individual students to have a little chat with them before he started the lecture.

I remember one time, when it was a particularly hot day and the airconditioning broke down, every person in the room was miserable and I don't think anyone was listening to him. He told everyone to stand up, and promptly taught us a little dance to break things up a bit and to brighten the mood. Most lecturers wouldn't have cared, and would have kept droning on until the end.

I don't have a favorite teacher, I have 3 favorite teachers. Miss Marsh, Miss Ludlow and Mrs Walker (aka Miss Wendt). These three amazing people have never given up on me, never stopped loving me for who I am and have never let me down. I have let them all down at some stage and hurt Miss Marsh quite badly with my words and actions, but she doesn't hate me for it. Mrs Walker is just incredible, the love I have received from her is amazing, she is like my second mum. And Miss Ludlow I have only just started to get to know, but I can tell she is going to be a really sweet, caring teacher. I love you three to bits!!! xx

My medical skills teacher was pretty cool. He bought me a Starbucks coffee and had a sick sense of humor. He got a tampon, painted it red and put it in the sink so all his students would think it was a used tampon.

My fifth grade teacher. All my teachers before her thought I was just a troublemaker. She was the one that actually realized that I was just bored as hell and tried to challenge me. It was when I actually started to do really well in school.

My senior year college prep English teacher, Ms Smith, was amazing! Every lesson she did was structured in a way that we didn't even realize we were learning, and she made English so fun!

In grade 8 I had a female teacher named Lynn M. She would always wear these lycra slacks that would reveal a nice cameltoe (sometimes big, sometimes small) and would also hug her beautiful butt. That's when I first started masturbating, so I guess you could say that she was my first. She was so hot that I still think about her to this very day and would like to be with her if I could see her in those yummy pants again.

Mrs B. She was my 5th grade teacher. She had an awesome personality, very sweet and friendly. She drove a green Volkswagen Beetle and she read awesome books to the class like Coraline and Wayside School is Falling Down. Years before she became my teacher, she had been in a car accident and walked with a slight limp because of it.

One time a Mexican classmate had a pinata for his birthday, and when it busted, Mrs. B got trampled in the scramble to get the candy. She got taken to the nurse's office and we all went back to the classroom. We all felt so bad for what we did that we each placed a handful of candy on the overhead projector as an apology gift. When she came back, she was very touched by our gift.

Sometimes I miss her really badly and wonder if she's still around and if so, does she still remember me?

My professor Deb! She literally told me I was the best student she's ever had and she's been teaching for like 10 years, although I have no idea if she's ever said that to anyone before lmao! She was still my favorite and she was kind, real, not only knowledgeable in the subject she taught but was also there to help you with whatever kind of crap you were going through with good advice and kind words!

Mrs. R. She was my 3rd grade teacher and, at the time, she seemed like every other teacher. But as I got older I grew to respect the woman for more than her teaching skills. She was strict in the most loving way possible and you always wanted to make her proud.

The population of the city exploded and new schools were being built to accommodate the mass amounts of track housing that were sprouting up everywhere. My grammar school was old and now in the heart of a large hispanic community that was very poor and very crowded. Lockdowns were common as crime was rampant in the area. All the teachers fled to the new schools. But not Mrs. R, she was devoted to that school and that community. She refused to leave. She ended up teaching the children of many of her students and those parents would have it no other way.
