I just hope someone scores!
(am I doing this 'sports banter' thing right?)
I don't give a fuck about sports but hockey is cool, and I'm from Boston so I'm obligated to say Bruins.
Bruins! They have bears on the chosen playing surface of what sport this is!
I think Gibbs is a much better fullback than Monreal. Arsene Wenger needs to sort out his team
Thing with arsene is that he puts all his hopes on an a team and no backup, sanogo has been put in a position I don't think he's ready for due to poor sub choices,
But
Ramsey's back, that's the most important thing, he's been the best player in the league in my opinion he was missed and ozil looks more at home every time,
With the highest season ticket price and arsen being a tightass there's so much money to be spent, need to get ready for sanya leaving too,
I reckon buying ozil was a sign of him changing, hopefully he'll make some more purchases
I really like Arsene. He's my favourite manager in the league and I respect his principles regarding financial fair play, investing in young players etc. But you're right: Arsenal's squad has no depth. Even Sagna and Arteta are dead weight in the Arsenal first XI, and up against teams City and Chelsea (who don't have any dead weight) they don't have a chance. Not to even mention the lack of organisation in their defence.
I think Ozil was an unconvincing purchase. He's a great player on paper, but he's performed below par in most games since Christmas. I think Ramsey and Theo Walcott contribute at least as much to the team as he does. Ozil is a connecting player who creates chances, but Walcott and Ramsey can do that too while providing a goal threat in their own right. Arsenal's attack was dead in the water with Ramsey and Walcott gone.
Yeah I greatly respect arsene, he changed English football in my opinion and I admire his idea of putting effort into inexperienced players and seeing them grow, thing is they often go elsewhere because we don't win anything, I admire the man, but I feel he hasn't changed with the Times,
As for ozil, I never expected much this season, it takes time for a player to gel so I think we'll see him at his best next season
You're completely right, we were lost without Ramsey and Walcott even giroud who was one of my favorite arsenal players I'm looking patience with, I just feel that arsene needs to think of the club as a whole not just one line-up
mmm. Having world class players like Ozil will attract new players as well
At about December time I said, If Arsenal spend again in January they'll win the league. They didn't spend and they've gotten lucky that Everton have slipped up so they can get 4th!
Probably shouldn't have sold Clichy, then. He's better than both of them.
I quite like Monreal, though a full back he is not. More of a wing back.
As a non-Arsenal fan, Gael Clichy was one of my favourite Arsenal players. I generally don't like offensive full backs, but Clichy made the role work. I think it's a waste of talent that he hasn't had a bigger role at Man City. It's a shame so many players are only in it for the money.
I really like Clichy too. Good player. Although, the full back role moved on in our game because of the wonderful Brazilian laterals like Roberto Carlos and Cafu. Their team was insanely unbalanced and shouldn't work being that attack-heavy, and yet it both did work and influenced the game in Europe. And still does.
Clichy for City? Hmm. That's a scarily strong squad. I wouldn't blame any player for joining, thinking they'll be part of it, and then somehow not being.
I mean, pick three players to leave out of this midfield: Toure Silva Nasri Navas Milner Garcia Rodwell
I do blame players, because I hold people to a high moral standard (and it is a moral issue). It's deceitful to leave somewhere you said and performed as if you were dedicated to, especially when you only give fabricated reasons for leaving. It's no wonder fans hold a grudge against some former players.
Maybe I just have different motivations to football players :P
