How come memes used to be cute and harmless back in 2012, but then suddenly warped and became outright vulgar?

    Because people are dopamine-fried from obsessive media consumption to the point jokes aren’t funny anymore and you need to be shocked or disgusted to feel like you’re experiencing anything
