I just want to know why the end times are so important in Christianity.
Not all Christians, just the holier-than-thou, self-righteous ones. And they're the ones that Jesus probably would find unacceptable. So it's kind of ironic.
I think it's just the judgmental ones who get a rise out of the thought of other people going to hell. I have people I know and love who aren't, by definition, Christian so it's disturbing to me.
Cus Christians have to follow so many rules and have so many twisted views it makes Earth seem boring and evil is my guess, I also wonder why they're so afraid to die for the most part.
In most forms of Christianity, the end times is not the end times per se. It is, essentially, judgement day.
Judgement day is when all of the worst sinners and offenders of God will be brought to justice and all of the good people of the world will be brought to heaven. In some forms of Christianity, people who die stay dead and their souls stay latent in their bodies on Earth until Jesus comes and raptures them from the dead. At which point he will rapture them. In their own bodies. K.
Christians look forward to the end times because it means an end to sin and suffering for the just and an eternity of sin and suffering for the unjust. It will completely clean the world and put all morality back in place and it will prove, once and for all, who is and is not worthy of the Lord's Kingdom.
I was a Christian for a long time and I did not like talking about the end times because Christians always happen to see "signs" that the end times are coming (the bible talks a bit about what signs to expect). I gave up pointing out the fact that the Bible also clearly stated that the end-times would come when least expected, like "a robber in the night". Hear that, fuckers? You want it to happen, act like kids waiting for Christmas presents the night of Christmas eve and just stfu and ignore it.
I am Christian but I highly doubt the second coming is near because it is supposed to be during the end of the Earth, which will probably happen when the sun runs out of fuel. Why some people might be eager for the second coming is because Jesus, according to the Bible, was a really awesome, loving, holy guy and they want to meet Him. I want to meet Him to but I hope it happens when I die rather than at the end of the Earth.
Because they are going to heaven, they think. And maybe they are who am I to say?
