Why do i get cramps in my arms?

Since my early 20s (now I am 28yrs of age) I have been experiencing severe arm cramps radiating all the way down, after I do a lot house work. For example if I am to scrub the carpet clean, or do multiple chores all day; it will trigger it. It sometimes gets so severe that it feels like I've been shot in the arm and it doesn't go away. Keeps me up all-night crying and wailing. Its like having period cramps in your arms. I've been to A&E for it once and they just prescribed me with strong pain killers. I've also spoken to the doctor about it but they just say that its probably a muscle spasm but then again doctors these days just say anything to get you off their case, they never want to investigate anything. My mother has fibromyalgia, osteoporosis/arteritis. Cramps last for about 12-24 hours. Does anyone else get this?

Try drinking more water and have a banana. Anything with potassium. Although it sounds a little more serious than that.

I'd guess RSI or carpal tunnel syndrome.

I get a weird cramp in my arm in occasion. It makes it hard to ride a bike at times. It usually goes away if I can change position and relax.

I'm surprised the doctor didn't give you muscle relaxers. I take a calcium/magnesium supplement to help with muscle pain. It helps with mild problems, I'm not sure if it will help with more serious pain.
