Why do people always say "they didn't deserve this"?

Whenever somebody dies, there is somebody that always says, "They didn't deserve this", when death is just a part of life. It happens. People that don't "deserve" to die will always die in the end. At the end of the day, NOBODY lives forever. It doesn't matter if you "deserved" to die or not. Death for sure doesn't give a shit if somebody deserved it or not. It really doesn't matter if someone deserved it or not. It really doesn't make any sense.
