Why do people say it's weird if a 40 year old woman dates a 35 year old man but if a 40 year old man dates a 25 year old or even a 20 year old no one says anything especially with celebrities?

Like Alec Baldwin is 25 years older than his wife, she was in her 20s when he was in his 50s when they started dating no one said anything.

Leonardo DiCaprio is nearing 50 he's hooking up with 18-22 year olds and no one says anything.

Clint Eastwood is 91, he was like 70 and 80 when he was dating a 30 something..and that's okay but God forbid a woman date 5-10 years younger

Johnny Depp is almost 60 he was dating 20 somethings for a while.

Why is it when a woman celebrity is dating only 5-10 years younger they make it weird like it's outlawed on the news? They'll say "her and her boy toy" or "her and her young man" or say "her boyfriend, 7 years her junior" like what is that? Why is it okay?

Lots of male celebs are dating 20-40 years younger than them and it doesn't make the news but if a woman dates 5-10 years younger it's mentioned like it's a massively weird thing?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Because traditonally men have gone for younger women and women have gone for older men.

Literally nobody has ever said that. It’s basically not even considered an age gap.

Its just more unusual because men normally like to be older. But i dont think it is weird

Biologically men can procreate longer than women but they can't fuck when they get older.

Actually that's incorrect both male and females lose eggs and sperm at roughly the same rate and both the older sperm and older eggs if conception happens are at a higher risk of things like autism.

Hauntedbysandwiches, I wish it weren't so, but women do lose the ability to have babies. It is called menopause. Old eggs can lead to more complications, but I'm not sure that is the reason for increased autism? Do you have a source?

Yeah they do go through menopause but that's on average 50 years old and that's irrelevant because if a male 40-45 or older gets his 20 year old girlfriend pregnant his sperm places her pregnancy at "high risk" for many serious conditions also increases the risk of miscarriage.

          Here: https://spermcheck.com/fertility/blog/fertility-and-men-making-babies-over-50/

"A woman under 25 is twice as likely to have a miscarriage if her male partner is over 45"

"The researchers showed that the chance of having a child with autism was 28 percent higher among fathers who were in their 40s, and 66 percent higher for men in their 50s, compared to fathers younger than 30."

          Here: https://www.healthline.com/health-news/does-older-sperm-cause-autism

Also I worked with children and parents at my last job and found that the kids who had autism especially non verbal autism were those with older male parents where the man was much older than the woman. I knew this because (without revealing what I did) I'd have to check their IDs also it was evident based on how much older they looked. And my close friend has autism and his mother is 21 years younger than his father. He was in his 40s when his wife was in her 20s they were both healthy one is a gym teacher the other a rowing instructor they do believe it was because his father was older. His brother also has autism and he was born two years before him. They have no history of any autism in the family. A lot of males try to twist the evidence and claim it's inconclusive but study after study reveals men's biological clock is equal to that of a woman's when it comes to sperm/egg health.

          https://www.aau.edu/research-scholarship/featured-research-topics/men-have-biological-clock-too-rutgers-study-finds

"The study found that men 45 and older can experience decreased fertility and put their partners at risk for increased pregnancy complications such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia and preterm birth. Infants born to older fathers were found to be at higher risk of premature birth, late still birth, low Apgar scores, low birth weight, higher incidence of newborn seizures and birth defects such as congenital heart disease and cleft palate. As they matured, these children were found to have an increased likelihood of childhood cancers, psychiatric and cognitive disorders, and autism."
