Why does india rely so heavily on groundwater when

She is blessed with abundant summer rainfalls. It is deconstructive to deplete our aquifers while we receive copious rains from the summer monsoon. Unless it’s a drought, please do not withdraw from our wells.

I'm from india. The rains are scanty here and dry monsoons are common, only option left is to utilize groundwater. The greedy indian bastards cut off too many trees.

Moron. The groundwater IS FROM RAINWATER. Groundwater is surface water that is filtered through meters of ground and rock.

    • Do you not comprehend that aquifers have different recharge rates? Yes, the reservoir contains water that comes from the sky, but no 2 aquifers refill at the same rate. The summer monsoon provides enough water for recharge and public use.

Yet you are asking iin a site that's primarily filled with Americans and Europeans (Australians included). Theres not many Indians on this site nor people who really care about ground water in India.
