Does anyone else notice self proclaimed progressive sites like google will say “[minority] did something non-stereotypical, click here to see how”. Today it is “female”. is it normal to find this extremely cringeworthy and equally sexist as anything else? How is it not?
Most of the click bait I see is junk like "Today is a sad day in the music scene" but then you click it and it is an ad for a wrinkle cream or weight loss pill. Sometimes something like "We say good bye to (some famous person)" suggesting they died.
OR on youtube there is the clickbait like "10 biggest mistakes in sports" and the thumbnail shows a woman with white booty shorts and a FAT,LONG, JUICY camel toe showing through as her ass is in the air. Of course in the actual video, that shot is no where to be found.
I have noticed a lot of commercials have mixed families and people working outside gender roles (girl welder followed by a burly guy baking cakes) Not that anythings wrong with any of this but its definitely got a "Hey, look, we're totally not racist" kind of vibe.
None of it matters. All this proves is that there's hypocrites on both sides. Where there's self-righteousness, there usually a bit of hypocrisy.
because minorities makes people feel like they belong to something just because of their sexual behavior or born-characteristics. really, if you think hard enough everything is a minority. And even the so called "straigh white male" became a minority too. hell to those! hate this "divide and conquer" political strategy. Its making everyone a bunch of pussies and fools!
I have noticed that. It seems like they make their successes out to be atypical. And that just perpetuates ideas of inequality regarding the rest of the [group]. Seems they’re just pandering to the weak-minded or already biased. My gf also pointed out all the ads showing middle-age white guys being the noob, being out done or corrected. I guess they’re the new target to debase. Heheh. I just ignore his kind of low-brow crap.
Exactly! I see google trying to be “inclusive” but they specifically have to say it was a woman or a gay person or a non white person that achieved such and such. I get they’re trying to prove how accepting they are but it’s so hypocritical that they only promote people for breaking stereotypes and being “just like everyone else”. Same can be said for businesses who help specific people get into jobs based on their race / sex.
Yeah as soon as someone says "as a [insert gender or race here] I" I immediately lose any respect for them or what they might say.
