Why is suicide unpardonable but murder can be forgiven?
I just tough about this and I'm struggling to find an answer. I opened the web, books, and even discussed with some people from the religious domain but can't seem to find a proper answer.
First of all, I understand why the suicide is unpardonable because you physically can't undo your mistakes(due to being dead). But I just find it stupid that a depressed person that ends it all is more judged than a killer. Also, I don't take into consideration the ones that kill in self-defense, I'm only talking about murderers.
To me, personally, the act of taking the life of another human being is horrible and something revolting, a grotesque last resort. But suicide is a tragic event. So why an act that steals the life from a human that wants to live can be forgiven but taking your own life is something horrible, that is looked over as a great, unforgivable sin. I just don't get how one is worse than the other.
It is also notable that I live in Eastern Europe, where committing suicide will make your neighbors stop talking about you, or even saying your name out loud and not coming to the burial. But if you are a murderer and die, they will still pray for your "poor" soul.
