Why is the belgian national team so bad at football?

As the title says, why?

On paper, they're one of the best teams in the world with players like:

Kompany
Vermalen
Vertonghen
Hazrad
Witsel
Lukaku
Mertens
Miralas
Benteke
Van Buyten
Fellaini
Chadli
Mingolet
Dembele
De Bruyne
Cortois
Alderweireld

In theory, they should be better than France, England, Portugal, Italy. They should be competing for big trophies! But when it comes to playing together they all suck!

    Belgium aren't doing well? Belgium are top of their group and almost certain to qualify (although it is quite an easy group) and haven't lost a game this year. And Belgium drew against France!

    Many of those top players (Courtois, Lukaku, Hazard, Benteke, De Bruyne to name but a few) are still extremely inexperienced, and experience is often something that's needed to make a group of players who all play for different clubs in different countries work well together. They'll get better as time goes on; in Euro 2012 the team's average age was 23, far younger than most other teams, but as those top players develop they'll start to work better together.

      It's Belgium *isn't* because Belgium is only one word and doesn't end with s. Belgium is a collective and thus takes singular forms. Saying "Belgium aren't doing well" is very bad grammar, like saying "I is American". Wait, don't you people say things like "I is Scot!"?, or is that crap chav-speak? And holy crap, when did Belgium become a good soccer team?

      Yeh but that's because the toughest team in their qualifiers are fecking Scotland!

      Once they get to the world cup they'll bottle it again!

    Well when you look at Englands line up...Jags, Cahill, Hart, Johnson, Baines, Cole, Lampard, Wilshere, Gerrard, Carrick, Townsend, Walcott, Rooney, Sturridge...We have a sick team.

      Jags is over rated.

      Cahill Is average

      Hart is good

      Johnson is Shit

      Baines is good

      Cole is ove rated

      Lampard is old

      Wilshire is good

      Gerrard is old

      Carrick is ok

      Townsend is good

      Walcott is fucking terrible

      Rooney is good

      Sturridge is good.

      I don't feel that we have 1 single world cluss player. Whereas Belgium do.

    Hmm, if that's the best they got to offer... I mean, they're not the worst players but I can imagine better. I'm from Holland myself and compared to Robben, van Persie, van der Vaart, Sneijder, Huntelaar and so on those Belgian names mean absolutely nothing!
