Why not legalize all drugs?

Why doesn't the government legalize all drugs for recreational use? I.e. heroin, cocaine, meth, prescription opiates, benzodiazapeans, etc?

Tax the hell out of them, put daily limits on them, and at least the drugs will be safe...no fentanyl overdose deaths.

Like prohibition with alcohol, it will not work.

I mean tbf your logic is about 70% bang on with this. You value freedom which is respectable, and taxing the shit out of them would alleviate costs associated with the societal damage.

However, it would still cause deaths as people would get hooked on them, and that would lead to people abusing the system, and the system would be abused. You'd essentially have black market dealers who save up their own "rations" and then shift them for profit.

I suppose it comes down to how much you value liberty over other factors like security and addiction when debating a subject like this. I probs wouldn't legalise all drugs, but a lot certainly should be, and the revenue you could get in tax would be bonkers.

Addictive drugs should be banned. Psychedelics should be allowed more though.

Any good place to get some research chemicals in the USA?

Agreed with that, but with some conditions:

    1) You would have to be 18-25+ years old (based on drug) and also be self-righteous

    2) Drugs should not be taken in public especially when there are children around

    3) You would have to pay more in health insurance

It's normal I suppose but if all drugs were legal it takes the fun away from taking drugs, these drug lords are bad people, that's why some of those drugs are illegal. Hippies do that shit, history shows hippies' arses kicked by the cops for what fools hippies were, today's hippies are much wiser, yes it's because they took drugs, I don't think any hippie is an expert on attracting good vibes, you get good vibes by not being a criminal, it's no wonder the good stuff's illegal.

To have a free society you need a moral society. And I worry our society wouldnt be able to handle having such easy access to drugs. This isnt the 1950s where people are everyone wants to have kids outside highschool.

Also you have to consider every action has a reaction. And in theory it sounds like it would all be harmless but it wouldnt. Drug addiction wouldnt magically disappear it would get worse. And I disagree with "taxing the shit out of it" if it is legalized. I dont know why ppl are so brainwashed into believing taxes are so good.

Yeah it's common sense that they should be legalised but the government won't do it unfortunately because they'd worry about their image. I mean, they won't even legalise cannabis even though the entire scientific and medical community say it's harmless. It's ridiculous really.

I've not seen a single medical study that says its harmless. There are a few that says that, like many drugs, that the benefits often outweigh the risks for people with certian medical conditions.

However, in general... its very destructive and shortens the life of most people according to the medical study summaries I have reviewed.

There was even a major study released this year (2022) that showed how harmful it was for people without certain medical issues.

You shouldn't be on narcotics while having medical issues, however without drugs the sick people will run amuck, ending you, that means the drug dealer, er, doctor, should medicate these suckers.

This is one of the times I can agree with you. Weed isnt harmless. I say that even though I think it should be legal. Its definitely not harmless.

I think the government wants an image where they're not so innocent themselves, their logic, "I don't allow narcotics so I allow cigarettes", and some of the MPs and politicians smoke, nothing's smoother or more stress-relieving than a cigarette, I smoke during the week, that stuff's a relaxant, benztropine's no different to a cigarette, as even cigarettes, mildly narcotic, can pull down your eyes.

The government loves to tell us to do as politicians tell us to, while politicians are exempt from all the bullshit

Drugs can damage your health, also, they can ruin your life, this post's attracting a lot of junkies, including cocaine-sniffers, crackheads and potheads.

Hence why people who base their morality entirely on the law are stupid and brainwashed
