Why the heck do people put their scopes on their quad-rails

Alrighty, my pet peeve is people who mount scopes NOT on their receiver, but on the Quad-rail of their AR. Seriously, it looks fucking dumb, how the hell do you even see that shit? For example, I went to the range one day. This guy brought his kid to shoot his AR-15. Big Ol' problem. The kid couldn't see through the scope because of one tiny shift and your sight picture is fucked. I had to let him use my AR with my Trijicon mounted on the RECEIVER to use, and guess what? He was actually able to hit his target.

    It's the whole image thing.
    Quad rails with 50lbs of accessories attached trying to look ' tactical '
    I especially like the flashlight add on.
    You just make yourself an easy target.
    It's kinda a phase right now.
    Guys that aren't in the Marines liking to look like they might be.
    Cops do the same thing,swat gear, Web gear, all black, high n tight.
    Ar is a nice weapon.

    I mount mine on a tripod and use a remote trigger. 500 meter head shots - no problem.
