Will doctors stop accepting me after rescheduling several times?

I’ve already resheduled my medical appointment twice and I’m thinking of rescheduling again because of these time-consuming lab and research papers I have to do. What will happen if I keep rescheduling appointments several times?

Do you really need to reschedule, or are you just using your schoolwork as an excuse to put off the visit?

Don't know where you are, but in the UK there's a difference between rescheduling and just failing to show up.

Habitual no-shows piss people off because they're a waste of resources, but giving the doctor a couple days' advance notice that you won't be able to make an appointment just means they can slot in someone else. My wife has various chronic medical issues, and she often gets a call offering an earlier appointment at short notice due to a cancellation. When she's had to ask for a reschedule, this has been done without any problems.

Yeah, it takes up admin time, but that's what the staff are paid to do.

I'm in the medical field, and can tell you..If you keep cancelling to reschedule, they will eventually boot you from their system and tell you find another provider that you'll actually go to. Their time is valuable, too, and someone else can fill the slot that you were scheduled for but bailed out of.

In the UK you'd probably have already been taken off their register. It's a mess over here.

Probably, especially if you keep rescheduling at the last minute so to speak.
