I tried to ask this in yahoo and they said I will get arrested.
I got a 25$ parking ticket in another city (about 40 miles away) I don't pay insurance on the car (it's not my car but I'm the one who drives it) and I have no credit cards. So what's the worst that will happen

see if you could give the person 25 dollars and they could write the cops a check and be done with it. or you could pay with one of those 25 dollars prepaid visa cards from walmart
itd be a dickhead move to dump it in the owners lap
but prolly nothinll come from it unless yallre parkin in that city again and git another ticket cause they might tow the car
Right I wouldn't wanna make the owner pay but I'm just gonna act like I lost it til I get a 2nd or 3rd notice as I've done before no bother they usually give up but since it's another city i was worried
but the notices are gonna show up at the address of whoevers name is on the registration
how would they know to contact yall if the cars borrowed?
Honestly if the owner doesn't contact me about a fine for a car they don't drive, that's cool too, they have way more money than I anyway I buy stuff for them in fact the other day bout a 25 dollar case of beer and never got any so I guess we'd be even
or else they will skip the payment as well since they already have like 3 fines never paid from another state about 5yrs ago and nothing happened except collection agencies ringing to a mostly dead phone #
You could get arrested if you get stopped by cops and they check your details but you probably wont get charged with anything
If the car's in someone else's name how would the cops find you? Obviously they can find the owner who, if your law is similar to ours, will verify in writing that h/she wasn't driving the car at the time and will tell them who was - YOU.
I'm not trying to put it on the other person. I'm just saying 25$ come on it took me 8$ of gas to drive to the shit and I dont even know how to pay it as I've never done before, cba I'll be driving a dif car, dif state in 3 weeks
It's crappy to dump it on the owner. Other than that I certainly wouldn't pay it. I live across the country and I got a parking ticket in Marin County last August and I just tore it up and threw it away.
If you're old enough to drive you're old enough to work out what to do in this situation: either pay it or give the money & ticket to the car's owner to pay. It isn't rocket science!
Unless the other city is Pyongyang, I doubt you'll be arrested. If it is Pyongyang then you will be handed 25 years of hard labour (one for evelly dolla!) and made cry in front of millions of people on the telly.

Unless you have multiple unpaid parking tickets yeah nobody is going to arrest you they have bigger things to worry about
I wrote a check for gas coming back from a road trip for about that much. I had lost my debit card and I was desperate for gas. The check cleared and disappeared for forever and I wasn't keeping tabs on my account. I spent the money thinking that it went through (because I didn't see the amount debit at all) and apparently it bounced. The city it bounced in is about 5 hours away from where I live and I got pulled over for something stupid (they probably just ran my plates and made up an excuse) and I was only like 30 mins outside of where I live. I went to jail for a day and half. So yes! lol
It's not your car, the owner will get the bill. He or she will probably need to pay it before renewing the tag or license. You! Won't get arrested but the owner will after the Kick your ass! LOL
You can ignore it but it will go up in price and eventually be more than $25... I'm pretty certain nothing will happen to you, but the owner may have some issues.... It isn't wise to owe the government money... But pretty sure I myself owe plenty of money to several different counties in different states... Most they've done thus far is mail me to tell me about it, and ask me to pay it. Ignore ignore ignore!!
