Will we get covid every year for the rest of our lives?

My cousin had COVID 4 times now...all left her bedridden. My friend 3 times.. hospitalized twice. My other friend 2 times hospitalized twice as well and all other friends had COVID bad at least twice so far.

I didn't get covid because I'm immune compromised so I stay inside and I'm obsessed with being clean but everyone is getting severely sick for weeks each year. Is this going to keep happening for the rest of everyone's life? Getting COVID every year for weeks? All my friends except one had severe symptoms that left them sick for at least 2-3 weeks. They had no sick days so had to use up their entire vacation for the year and even take from next year's vacation days because they get the standard 5-10 days off a year.

When will COVID go away or at least become less serious? I got the flu once I almost died because of my immune system. I can't get COVID i want to leave my house but can't. My friends who were hospitalized didn't even have any underlying health issues, I do which means I'd end up in the hospital or worse if I catch it. It's been so long. I just want COVID to stop being so damn horrible. Can't they stop it???

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

As long as world leaders think they can use COVID to restrict individual freedoms, bullshit cries of the world ending unless you self-isolate until you literally want to commit suicide will remain prominent

If you havent already you might wanna look into getting vaccinated if your immune system is that bad.

Idk if covid will stay forever, I cant predict the future, but it wouldnt surprise me. Most people have already had it. In the next few decades it probably wont make people as sick anymore because our bodies will be use to getting it.

Covid is a virus and its never going to go away. Swine flu never went away either and is still spreading every year just like the regular seasonal flu. Covid is still getting new variants that are highly contagious though, apparently, but that will stop happening eventually and it won't make anyone healthy more ill than the regular flu.

Realistically? Its 50/50 depends if covid takes after 90% of viruses or the other 10%. The 90% learned that if it doesnt kill their host they can continue living. The 10% dont know they are killing their host but arent severe enough to quickly kill without spreading to another host.

Influenza has been around for thousands of years? Covid could take the same course. Or fade away to obscurity within our bodies, being relatively harmless in your body. If that becomes the dominant strain then yes covid wont be a thing. As that's the "normal" path of progression in most viruses. If most viruses caused problems we would already be dead.

To be clear I dont got the exact data. But because there are more viruses then stars in our galexy. But only around 200 bring disease. So statistically speaking it's more like 99% roommate viruses. And 1% doesnt pay rent sociopath roommate.

Either you live your life and may get sick. Or you continue to not live at all.

That’s assuming you don’t feel happy just hidden indoors.

If we ever hit the numbers for herd immunity we may have a chance at decreasing the numbers. However, there are a lot of people who think that it's a government experiment/it has side effects/simply refuse because of their "freedom",so I don't see it happening anytime soon.
