Wondering about something concerning friendship

How do you guys speak to your friends?
For me the conversations are very clean and polite which is honestly kinda boring. It starts "hi" or "hi how are you?" and continues in a very polite and neutral fashion.
I used to be much funnier when I was a teen... though back then I overwhelmingly communicated with random english speaking people online. Me and my former best friend though would just spam each other with bizzare memes inbetween random "lets hang out"-texts which I miss. I need planning and i'm incapable of being spontaneous but me and my former best friend had gotten to a state of being so comfortable that we didnt need to plan anything in advance. Unfortunately it was a toxic friend with some really big problems that he refused to work out so that all fell apart. I now have 1 friend I have fun conversations with left and thats an internet friend ive had for many years but never met. Does this mean my friends are more acquitances than friends due to how lowkey strained our convos are?
