Would atheists be open to celebrating gift giving during christmas?

Just wondering, Christmas is in about 4 months now or so. Me personally, I do celebrate Christmas even if I consider myself agnostic. But how do atheists act during Christmas? Say, I buy a nice gold watch or necklace for them or something of value? Would they be open to accepting the gift and wishing me a merry Christmas? Or would they maybe say “Sorry, I don’t celebrate. You can keep your gift.”

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Ive never met an atheist who doesnt celebrate christmas and most people ive known have been atheists... Not sure what kind of a hyper christian society you've grown up in but yes, most atheists celebrate christmas unless they happen to dislike holidays. Christmas is hardly about religion anymore if we're gonna be honest.

I think it's kind of silly when religious people get all offended by atheists celebrating Christmas. Bringing people closer together, helping each other feel they belong, and doing good to others is absolutely what Jesus would want during the holiday season, regardless of anyone's religiosity or lack thereof

I'm Atheist and I give gifts to people on Christmas. I also receive gifts. It's quite fun.

I think athiests just celebrate christmas anyway because they do it FOR the presents, or nostalgia, and not for a religious reason.

I'm an atheist and I celebrate Christmas. Why would I miss such a beautiful celebration?

Because it's not just Christmas and not everyone celebrates Christmas. Rohatsu, Hanukkah, Solstice, etc so yeah holiday season.

The question was about christmas. Why so inclusive?

I bet if you went to Israel you'd be saying happy honika to everyone too.

I'm an atheist, and if I were to be offered a gift, I would take it without hesitation.

Very little of modern Christmas is genuinely religious in nature unless you're speaking about church services.

I've also never met someone outright deny a Christmas gift. (Unless it was a Bible or something like that.) People generally like presents. Just don't expect them to give you something in return.
