Would i be considred a gamer?

When I tell people I play videogames, they lable me as a gamer. Even my own friends do so as well. But I'm not sure if I can even claim that title myself. When I think "gamer" I think my little brother. Someone who plays videogames from the moment they wake until he sleeps. Someone who plays a variety of diffrent games. Story telling, puzzle, first shooters. Every genre.

Me on the other hand, I just play videogames just to pass time. Like I play videogames every 3-5 days out of the week. And I only play for a few hours. And I only play the same few games. Minecraft, Fortnite, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart, Sims 4 sometimes. I don't think I can be called a gamer if I don't play constanlly and it's only the same few games.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong. What do y'all think?

    Gamers would label you a "casual gamer", while they'd call themselves "gamers" or "hardcore gamers" (that latter term does sound a bit childish but they don't usually take it seriously, it's just a bit of fun). I used to be a hardcore gamer, but now I'm much more of a casual gamer. It is kinda ridiculous to imagine that anyone who plays video games is this hardcore gamer who plays super competitively all day and all night. I mean, if you read a book every now and then, it wouldn't make you a hardcore bookworm.

      I agree. Once was a hardcore gamer until I had a job that sucked out most of my free time. If I had it my way I would play a game for 10 hours straight.

      Games are fun but I like money more.

    Whenever I hear the term gamer I automatically think of early 20-somethings screaming racial slurs into their headset while playing one of only three games: Call of Duty, Fortnite, or Minecraft
