Would you consider dating someone who shares the name of a family member?

Hypothetical question, if you met someone who was perfect for you in every way, but their name was the same as a close family member of yours, would that be a dealbreaker? Tbh for me it would be. It's too weird.

Of course. Who cares? Names are just labels given to people by their parents. They have literally no bearing on the person at all. Names are made up.

I dont understand why ppl here worry about somethibg so insignificant... isnt it more important the shape of her ass than the name?

Impossible in my case (the only woman in my immediate family is my mother, and she has a very unusual name), but I don't think it would be a problem.

Introducing her to my family, though, now THAT'S something I probably wouldn't consider doing. "Hey mom, guess who my girlfriend is?!"

I feel like this becomes less or more of an issue depending on how common and uncommon the names in your family are. If you're working with names like Steve or Sarah, then it's whatever. If you happen to find a second person named Jeztan or Lamatatoya, I wouldn't blame anyone for giving you weird looks.

That could get awful confusing if my girlfriends name was the same as my sisters. I’d definitely have to be careful what I saved her into my phone under! Lol

I dated a man that had the same name as my father. Was the love of my life. Wasn't a problem for me.

My first girlfriend had the same name as me, just spelled differently. Lol.
