Would you have sex with someone who has hiv?

Let's say you're dating the perfect man/woman. He/she is everything you could ever hope for. Gorgeous, Rich, Smart, Compassionate, all except for one thing. He/she has HIV and he/she wants to have sex. Do you do it?

I met a woman and dated her for 4 years. I thought I knew her, and I trusted her. We had sex, and 6 months later, my penis was covered in warts. The doctor told me I had herpes, which will NEVER go away. The woman was having sex with 7 or 8 other guys, but she told me I was the only one. She and I are no longer together, but I will have herpes for as long as I live. HIV, which can become AIDS, is a disease that has no cure and can be fatal. Why would you take that kind of a risk with your life? Just for sex?

No, but lets say I also had it. Then, yes.

I don't, so that would be a deal breaker. Also, knowing me, I'd probably become even more paranoid. There's too much of a risk.

No. There are others ways to pleasure your mate ;) and hopefully they have a fetish or two to work with.

I'll find the cure first then penetration.

NO.

Condoms do NOT provide complete protection from HIV.

The pores in latex are 50X BIGGER than the HIV virus. Meaning?... it can slide right through the condom.

The pores you are refering to i believe are in latex gloves not condoms. Otherwise condoms would be completely ineffective against hiv, which of course, is not true.( though they're not 100% effective)

That being said, still wouldn't do it.

latex is latex. it still has pores no matter what shape you put them in.

and yes i have the facts to back it up

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1411838

"Leakage of HIV-sized particles through latex condoms was detectable (P less than 0.03) for as many as 29 of the 89 condoms tested."

So you were saying about the pores? When over 30% of the tested condoms showed leakage of HIV-sized particles you might want to review your myths about latex and pores

And don't forget the pores can enlarge as the condom is stretched.

There is a difference:

This sounds scary, but there are a couple problems with it. First, Roland bases his statement about a 5 micron latex pore size on a study of rubber gloves, not condoms. The U.S. Public Health Service says that condoms are manufactured to higher standards than gloves. Condoms are dipped in the latex twice, gloves only once. If just 4 out of 1,000 condoms fail the leak test, the whole batch is rejected; the standard for gloves is 40 out of 1,000. A study of latex condoms by the National Institutes of Health using an electron microscope found no holes at a magnification of 2000.

would you still trust your life to it?

especially since the condoms stretch and sometimes break

not to mention you can still have fluid transfer around the base of the penis and vagina (or anus) or your partner

You can't pass it on if you're on treatment. That is complete protection.

Most people suck and relationships these days never last. It would not be worth it to endanger one's health over something that would likely end in disaster.

No I wouldn't do that unless I already had it...but I have a friend and a cousin that didn't have it and the men told them they had it but they still went and did it its their faults BC those men gave them the choice to do It or not PS my cousin got pregnant by the guy and the baby has it and my cousin died 3 years ago but the man is still living

Though I agree that sex isn't the "most important" thing, it IS still an important thing. I can't imagine not having sex with someone I expected to spend my life with. That having been said, perhaps my cautiousness will translate as callousness, but I wouldn't be able to do it. It's one of those deal breakers. Condoms are a precaution, but they aren't a guarantee.

why??? they're humans, there's nothing wrong with them, don't be afraid, HIV is fake. never exist. many doctors and scientists deny that the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is the cause of AIDS for example watch Dr Robert Willner Injects "HIV" into himself on TV on Youtube. I read many things about it, no one have ever seen the virus under microscope, so how could you believe this...

Condom protects against Aids. if you choose a good brand of condoms appropriate to the size of your dick, of coarse.Modern and good condom never break if you use them properly. The problem is more psychological. You know you're having sex with a person with AIDS. But if you get an erection, put the condom and go ahead.

No, I would not get so deep into the relationship knowing that they had HIV. And if they do not tell me by the first date, they are being dishonest with me and in that, no giving me the chance to chose whether or not I am willing to risk falling in love with someone that could potentially give me a deadly disease.
Call me lame and closed minded, but whether or not the HIV is his fault, he should respect that I do not want to risk getting HIV if I can avoid it.

I wouldn't have sex with them. I've researched HIV/AIDS because I aim to become a HIV Counselor or Case Manager, and I know it's something that I couldn't live with myself. However if my partner was HIV+ I would stay with them. If you really love someone, sex isn't the most important thing.

Well, gosh...that's a toughie. Well, honestly if I loved this person with my whole heart and committed myself to only them, like..marriage-committed, then I believe I would have sex with them.

How would you be immune to HIV?? Unless you already had it?

Comment Hidden ( show )
-
• Darkoil

Some people are naturally immune if they have a mutated gene which codes for a receptor protein called CD4, it results in the HIV not being able to bind to the lymphocyte.
