I'll be honest, I have trouble with letting go of the past.

I loved my grandparents and when they passed away, it was hard to accept. My parents are now seniors too and I realize they will die one day too. I accept the fact, but I don't like it. To me family is sacred.

I can't imagine living forever and losing everyone I've ever loved.

I want to live for a long time but to see the heat death of the universe? Fuck no.

I think most people would want to live for as long as they want to live which would be as long as life doesnt completely suck. Setting a date on when you wanna die is unappealing to people.

I'm in the minority, but I'll say yes.

Do you come to this site anymore? I wanted to remind you of that day 10 years ago when someone said that they want to kiss you. Certainly my most favourite post on INN. I'm a big fan of you.

Yeah definitely, there's so many experiences to get out of life that one lifetime simply isn't enough time for it all.

also consider are the new things that will come around in the future that we just simply don't have now and those things that you're definitely going to want to experience at least once. Like a new sexe posion ;)

What good is living forever if all the things I love will eventually die without me.

Well, I'm a Christian, so I can tell you what we believe happens if you're interested, but you probably already know what I have to say and probably aren't interested. I'd be happy to talk if you are, though.

I grew up around many christians and I went to church every Sunday growing up but I have to admit idk what happens. I can hope that theres life after death but thats all there is. When I look at it from a strictly scientific and unemotional standpoint I realize I have no fuckin clue. But I seriously hope.

From a purely scientific standpoint, it's impossible to know what happens after death. Science can only be applied to the natural world. By it's very nature it cannot be applied to the supernatural or spiritual.

Yeah, if you are aging the whole time it would be very different to if you somehow magically stayed youthful

Until theres eventually no life in the universe (billions of years) and you still are alive. That would be an exsistance of hell.

Now I think people like us just wanna live to the apex of life and then kick the bucket when we are a ripe old age.

It truly would be. One could only hope the sun expanding would msnage to snuff you you out. Key word hope. Till the living hell for eternity part it could be a fun ride. Who knows maybe well discover a way to live on other planets. Eternity is a long time to aquire the skills to be a valuable member of such a team

That's assuming another alien race can pick you up or humanity doesnt blow itself up.

True, id take these gambles if presented with it though. If nothing better than to be able to say fuvk all and see what happens. Plus not being able to die would have its own Merritt in being able to do really stupid shit

Now would you still be conscious in space. All the air has been sucked out of you. Your saliva is boiling out of your mouth. Just seems you would float unconscious until you got back to a breathable atmosphere.

in a specific way, yeah. one of my biggest fears is death, honestly.

if i could be immortal in a vampire kind of way (ie only able to die in specific ways, extremely slowed/completely halted aging, etc) then i'd take that in a heartbeat. knowing what could and will kill me, not having to worry about "is this just a cold, or am i going to get pneumonia and drown in my bed a few weeks from now and my corpse will be discovered partially eaten by my cats after weeks and the neighbours started to complain about the smell, being the last way people remember me by?" that sounds ideal.

yes, extremely specific but listen, im not exactly stable. i think about shit like this way too much, its not really healthy.

and hey! if i ever get tired of it, well, i know how it's gotta be done.

It would be nice to live to my 400th birthday. Beyond that, I have no interest.

Thing is, if you lived forever, you'd outlive your grandkids. And everyone else.

Even if your health would remain ideal, you would eventually get bored of everything. That already happens in your 40's, let alone after centuries.

No, I wouldn't want to live forever unless I could have perfect physical, and mental health as well as a much higher IQ.

Forever is a very long time. And just because you live forever, doesn't mean you don't age. Why would I want to be a shriveled, decrepit husk unable to do anything for myself, all of my loved ones dead, and likely too senile to even form a sentence?

As in you are still mortal but you just dont age? Cause while that solves some problems what happens if you are totally disabled?
