Lets say you are scheduled from 9 am to 5 pm on a tuesday, but you find out you will have 4 hrs of zero work to be done between 11-3, would you rather if possible cram the work from 3-5 in during that break and then leave at 1 pm, or sit for 4 hrs and leave at 5pm?
It is paid by the hour, but your manager does not call to verify that you left when you said you did. You can fake your hours
I would never fake my hours. Seriously, don't do that. If you are getting paid by the hour I dont see the problem in just staying there not doing anything. Just sit there on your phone all day.
I personally wouldn't feel right about faking my hours and getting paid for hours I didn't work, nor just sitting on the clock after my work is done and getting paid for that (I'd rather just leave when my work is done if that is an option).
Im asking because of a real work situation that happened last week.
Situation: work for photo company. Job is from 9-3:30. Be at school at 8 am. Do job from 8-11. Have a break until 3. Photograph one kid at 3:25. Then go home. I had to wait for that one kid so Isat around all day unprepared with nothing better to do. Normally we are there for the actual time. But i feel like my time isnt valued when a school does that.
