Would you wait for him

So my husband of only 2weeks gets himself jailed for 18yrs & has told me to leave him & get on with my life. I don’t want to get on with my life I love him too much to go with anyone else he is my soulmate. 9 & a half years I’ll have to wait for him thats if he gets parole but if he doesn’t I’ll have to wait for 12yrs. The man is the love of my life & I cannot imagine myself being with anyone else. The burning question IS....would you wait for him? No hate please he made a mistake which he is now paying for please don’t sit there trying to judge me or my husband when you don’t know our story there’s just no need for all the hate on here I’m just asking everybody a genuine question thank you

Wait for him 4
Don’t wait for him 6

He wants you to keep moving with the life without him or his assistance, he also still has love for you.

Unless he was genuinely innocent or jailed for something that should not be a crime such as euthanasia, I would not.

You don’t say what he did so that makes it hard to judge. But, you only get one life, and it is always possible he could do his whole time. You also don’t say how old either of you are. Let’s say you are both around 20 and he gets to serve about 10 years. By the time he gets out you are both still both young enough to have a good long life together. But on the other hand if you are both say early 40’s and he does his whole time, you will be an old couple with perhaps not too many years left anyway. So lots of issues for you to consider!

What did he do to land in jail in the first place?
